I am seeking any information about Ananias COFFEY and wife Jane HINDMAN.  He supposedly died 1828. Does anyone have any idea where this date came from?  The couple married in Green County but resided for years in Adair.  I am descended from Louisa Caroline born 1827.  She married Larken GOWEN and moved to Warrick County, Indiana.  Supposedly, Jane COFFEY moved with another daughter to neighboring Pike County where she died in the 1860s.  Another daughter,  Eliza married Stephen STONE and is buried in the same cemetery as Louisa Caroline.  There are COMER/COOMER connections.  Larken Gowen's Mother was Nancy COMER of Stokes County, North Carolina.  A sister of Louisa's married a COMER/COOMER. Any help with either COFFEY or COMER would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brenda

My brickwall is my Williams family.  My greatgrandfather, James Albert Williams was born Aug. 31, 1869 probably in Kentucky.  He is on the 1900 Gradyville, Adair Co. Ky census with wife Monty (believed to be Montra Duke) and three daughters (one of them being my grandmother)  By 1910 James Williams is in McLennan Co, Texas with wife Alice Breeding.  He married Alice in 1900 in Adair Co., Ky.  Alice's maiden name was Breeding but also her 1st married name was Breeding and she had already been living in Texas prior to marrying James Williams and had children from the previous marriage.  There were two stories that a newly found 1/2 Williams cousin related to me.  First, James Albert Williams was supposed to have been a Methodist curcuit rider preacher when in Kentucky.  Second, at some point he had a relationship with a woman and a child was born from this relationship......I personally believe this child may have been my grandmother.  Her death certificate lists "Ellen Patton" as her mother and her OLDER sister's death certificate lists Montra Duke as her mother.  James Albert Williams died in a tragic accident in Hill Co Texas on Feb. 14. 1931.  He worked for the state highway dept painting the center stripes on the highways.  This day he had been bent over painting and when he raised up he stumbled and fell back in the path of an oncoming bus.  I looked up his death record in Hillsboro, Hill Co. Texas and it list: "Father: J. Williams born in Tennessee, Mother: Mary Stotts born in Cumberland Co.Ky".  If any Williams researchers have any idea about my Williams family please email me: Thanks, Lucretia Morales

locate is for Sallie Slavy, at the old Moss Cemetery.) Thanks, Lanny Slavey

I descend from a whole bunch of KY families, Grants, Wooldridges and many more. Anyhow I keep finding references to info on my Wooldridge ancestors that refer me to a book called Pioneer Settlers and Related Families at the Mouth of the Salt River, West Point KY and specifically to pages 56 and 57 of that book. If anyone out there could help me by either sending me a xerox of those two pages or telling me what it is that they say about my forbears I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Laura Grant

I am looking for my g-g-g grandfather's parents.  His name was John Nelson, he was born in about 1810 in Kentucky (county unknown).  His mother may have been Catharine.  He married Nancy (unknown last name).  He also moved to Hendricks County, Indiana by 1860.  He may have had sons, John and Silas.  It is also quite likely that Silas was a relation who came to live with him - as he suddenly appears in his household.  His second wife was Mary Lipes Jordan.  They had two daughters, Martha and Mary (my g-g-grandmother.)   Any leads would be greatly appreciated, Sharon Hanlon

Searching for ancestors and descendants of John PATTERSON (1784-1838).  His mother was named Mary, no information on his father.  John came from Virginia, but was probably born in Ireland.  He came to Adair Co. in 1802, lived with Alexander WALKERS.  Married 1803 in Adair to Polly HUGHES, dau. of Blackmore and Nancy ROUNDTREE.  Had 2 daughters, Mary (Polly) and Nancy.  Married again 1810 in Adair to Sarah SELBY, dau. of of Thomas and Rebecca LEVENS (from Post Vincennes, Indiana, later settled in Adair).  Had 4 sons (Thomas Whitfield, James, John Newton, and Blackmore) and 4 daughters (Isyphena, Avire, Merrise, and Amanda).  John owned land in SW Adair Co., later became Metcalfe Co.

Interested in contacting any descendants; have lots of information to share. Thanks, Bruce Patterson

Since my great-grandmother was a CALDWELL from the Adair-Green area, I would like to find out the history of the Caldwell Church.  It  is east of Knifley, north of  Road 1104, in the area between Allen Cemetery Road, Blair Ridge Road, and Barnett Creek Road.  I have never been there so do not know the exact address and location of the church.  I would particularly like the history of this church, including which CALDWELL it was named for, and what their role in the church and the community was.  If anyone knows the address of the church, or of its pastor, I could write directly to ask for information.  Please email me with any and all information you may know or have about this church.  I will greatly appreciate it.    Martha Penick LAMKIN
