Last Sunday morning Mr. Robert T. Bennett, who resided in the suburbs of Columbia, died after an illness of several weeks. He was one of Adair county's oldest citizens, being in his 81st year. He was a soldier in the Mexican War, a member of Capt. Jack Squires' Company. He was a good citizen and died without an enemy. His wife preceded him to the grave two years ago, but several sons and daughters survive him. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. S.J. Thompson and the remains interred in the city cemetery. The family has the sympathy of this community.
