* NOTES: These are members of my family long at rest and peace. The first person buried in this family cemetery was Mary “Polly” Frazier Butler, wife of Simon Butler (Indian) and mother of Sarah Elizabeth Butler Smith.

There are at least 40 or more graves in this cemetery, some names are not included here, as their burial has not been documented. Contact mfair@kc.rr.com for any information about this family or any corrections. This list has been compiled with as much care and confirmation as was available, mostly through older family members.

I am Marilyn M. McAlister Fair, daughter of Raymond Rollin McAlister and Alberta Florence Lane, granddaughter of Charles McKinley Lane and Mary Ellen Woods, great grand daughter of Sarah Belle Smith Lane and Benjamin Elisha Lane, and great great granddaughter of Elijah Smith and his wife Sarah Elizabeth Butler Smith.

This cemetery is located on what was the Wayne Legg farm, and long before, the Smith farm, Milltown Adair Co. Ky. Take 61 North from the square in Columbia going towards Greensburg, turn left at #768 or Milltown Rd., turn left again at Milltown Church Rd. and then a final left at Wayne Legg Farm Rd. The cemetery is located across Butler’s Fork Creek and directly behind the field adjacent to the corral and barn. Accessibility is very difficult, wear proper clothing, in years gone by there was a road leading down to the creek with a gate and a bridge across, however neither exist now. Easier access could be obtained through the owner of what was the Bud Gilpin farm.
