MASONS IN BALLARD COUNTY

Masons have a long history in Kentucky.  Dimitted or Demitted is an acceptance that someone wishes to leave. Entered Apprentice is the beginning or first degree, Fellow Craft is a mid-level or second degree, and Master Mason is the third degree. Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, Senior Steward, Junior Steward, and Tiler are appointed positions by the Master, while the other Officers are elected.

1885 Blandville Lodge No 142

I caused summons to issue against sixty delinquent lodges to appear by duly accredited representation before the Grand Lodge, on this day, at 2 o'clock p. m., to show cause, if any they can, why their charters should not be arrested. Some of these lodges are in arrears for dues for more than twelve months, others unrepresented for three or more successive years, and others still are delinquent in both respects. There may be some mistake as to all these being delinquent, but the Grand Secretary's office shows them so to be, and I have striven to clean up the docket, hoping this action would revive such as are not dead, and enable the members of such as are beyond hope of recovery to take membership with and contribute to other working lodges. The following embraces the list of lodges summoned—name and number, of lodge, last known officers, to whom sent, date, and cause of summons, viz.:
142 Blandville; E. W. Horr, M.; F. M. Jenkins, S. W.; D. P. Juett, J. W.; -; August 22; N. P. D.; no return since 1879.

1886 Blandville Lodge No 142
