MIDDLESBORO MAN HELD FOR KILLING IRA BALL,
HAD CASE REVERSED

Richmond, May 14 - The regular May term of Madison Circuit Court, which convened here Monday morning, will have included in it's docket the trial of George Colson of Bell County, charged with the murder of Ira Ball of Middlesboro in 1922 as an outgrowth of the famous Colson-Ball feud.

The case was brought here in 1923 on a change of venue from Bell County Circuit Court, and tried before Judge W. R. Shackelford. The defendant was sentenced to seven years in the state reformatory. The Court of Appeals, however, ordered that a new trial be had on the ground that new evidence had turned up since the trial. The case will be tried on the 19th day of the May term, which is Wednesday, May 28th. It is expected that it will take several days to try the case.
