3 WOUNDED IN PINEVILLE AFFAIR
FINLEY JOHNSON, DAN FAULKNER, AND MISS ROARK SHOT IN TROUBLE OVER WOMAN

PINEVILLE SUN - Tues, November 15, 1921

Two men and a woman were injured in a shooting affray in the Crystal Cafe here about 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Finley Johnson and Dan Faulkner were shot several times through the body and Miss Roark was seriously wounded. According to some, jealousy was the cause of the shooting. It appears that Miss Roark and Dan Faulkner had been keeping company for some time previously. Yesterday afternoon Faulkner walked into the cafe where Miss Roark and a friend of hers were seated. Johnson was at another table. Faulkner began  firing promiscuously and Johnson rose up from his chair and they fired at each other at close range. Several shots took effect in the stomach and breast of each. In the firing Miss Roark was also hit. All three are in hospitals here today and the recovery of Johnson and Faulkner is doubtful.

DAN FAULKNER DIED YESTERDAY Shooting at Pineville Fatal to One; Johnson's Condition Serious; Miss Roark Recovering PINEVILLE, Nov. 16
Dan Faulkner, who was shot in the Crystal Cafe here Monday afternoon, died at the hospital yesterday afternoon. The condition of Finley Johnson, who was wounded in the same affair, remains serious, but he has a chance for recovery. It is thought that Miss Roark is not injured seriously. These three were wounded  in a shooting supposed to have been caused by jealousy over Miss Roark. Faulkner will be buried tomorrow afternoon at the home place in Whitley county, about 14 miles from Barbourville. (Died Nov 15, 1921)
