James Cornett James N. Cornett, age 73, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at his residence. He was born in Morris Fork, [Breathitt County], Kentucky on June 9, 1930, the son of James and Liley Cornett. On June 8, 1957, he married Pauline Deaton. Buddy was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Army. He was employed by Champion International Papers for 38 years. Buddy was a member of the Pleasant Run Presbyterian Church for 30 years. During his time there, he served on the Social Committee as a Trustee and as an usher. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pauline Cornett and a daughter, Kimberly Cornett of Fairfield. Also by his devoted dog, Hailey. He is survived by three brothers, Luther Cornett of Manchester, Kentucky, Ray Cornett of Tampa, Florida and Vernon (Violet) Cornett of Glen Burnie, Maryland; five sisters, Frankie Watts of Middletown, Ohio, Alta Deaton of Miamisburg, Ohio, Alice Routt of Wilder, Kentucky, Dorothy Combs of Beattyville, Kentucky and Mary (Gene) Routt of Cincinnati, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Arrangements are being handled by the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 3950 Pleasant Avenue, in Hamilton, Ohio. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday, August 6, 2003 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the church. The funeral will be Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Run Presbyterian Church, 11565 Pippin Road, Cincinnati. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park, Princeton Road, in Hamilton, Ohio, immediately following the service. The Rev. David E. Rule officiating.
