Lizzie Turner Jackson, age 60, of Newport, KY departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 4, 2000, of a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Letcher Turner, a former school teacher and a member of the Morris Fork Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace Jackson of Newport, KY; her mother, Ollie Turner of Sebastians Branch, KY; one daughter, Nancy Carmen Jackson of Newport, KY; one son, Wallace Gregory Jackson and wife, Diane, of Newport, KY; one grandchild, Melissa Lynn Jackson of Newport, KY; father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Rachel Jackson of Booneville, KY; two special friends, Fran Wetterich and Jane Obersmith; six sisters, Nancy Turner of Springfield, OH, Julia Keene of Sebastians Branch, KY, Sophia King of Sebastians Branch, KY, Elloweese Shouse of Campton, KY, Wilma Deyo of Richmond, KY, and Elaine Deaton of Sebastians Branch, KY; and five brothers, Letcher and Sammie Turner of Fairborne, OH, Larry Turner of Sebastians Branch, KY, David Turner of Williamsburg, KY, and John C. Turner of Winchester, KY.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 7, 2000, at 11:00 AM with Revs. David Rule and David King officiating. Burial followed in the Letcher Turner Cemetery at Sebastians Branch, KY.

Deaton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
