Rachel Turner Jackson, age 84 of Crocketsville, KY, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2002 at the Nim Henson Geriatric Center. Born October 1, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Ona Wells Turner. She was a former homemaker and a member of the Morris Fork Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Andrew Jackson; four daughters, Nola DeWald of Cold Springs, KY, Liz Wilson of Newport, KY, Betty Stamper of Highland Heights, KY and Pearlie Tackett of Hazard, KY; two sons, Wallace Jackson of Newport, KY and Samuel Jackson of Jackson; two sisters, Eula Holliday of Hazard, KY and Helen Ogle of Cincinnati, OH; one brother, Sam Turner of Hazard, KY; 16 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Funeral services were Sunday, September 22, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Turner officiating. Burial followed in the Jackson Family Cemetery located at Crocketsville, KY. Pallbearers were friends of the family. Watts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
