Letcher Stamper, age 70, of Morris Fork, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the Kentucky River Medical Center. A retired construction worker and attended the Morris Fork Presbyterian Church, and a United States Veteran, Son of the late Harlan and Ollie Johnson Stamper. Survivors include: his wife, Flora Combs Stamper of Morris Fork, two daughters: Teresa Watts and husband Wayne of Jackson, Barbara Salyers and husband Glenn of Jackson, one son: Dale Stamper and wife Barbara of Vancleve, four sisters: Mima Carter of Cincinnati, OH, Eliza Gabbard of Oakdale, Kathryn Lewis of Florida, Lavern Jackson of Ohio, two brothers: Therman Stamper and Wesley Stamper both of Buckhorn. Also surviving are five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Friday, July 18, 2003 at the Deaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Herald and Phillip Swartzentruber officiating. Burial followed at the Harlan and Ollie Stamper Cemetery at Morris Fork. Deaton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
