General Notes: Wilson and Sarah's home was on the Middle Fork fo the Kentucky river in Breathitt County about one mile above the mouth of Long's Creek. One morning after having breakfast and while his wife was busy with her housework, she placed her churn of milk on the front porch and asked her husband to do the churning. He sat down and began doing the job when Flint Strong and Bill Freeman, who were hidden in the timber across the river opened fire on him with rifles and he fell to the floor dead. This occurred during the Strong-Amis feud in which Callahan was taking an active part against Strong.
