Second Generation 2. Benjamin Sebastian was born about 1750 in VA, died in 1819 in Hays, Wilkes Co, NC about age 69, and was buried in 1819 in Sebastian Cem., Hay Meadows, Wilkes Co, NC.

Benjamin Sebastian served in the 1st Virginia Regiment from 1775 to 1783. After the Revolution, he moved to Wilkes Co, NC.

Benjamin came to Wilkes County with his family and brother Lewis in 1774. Lewis was born in 1762. Benjamin got a land patent from the State of North Carolina for 150 acres of land in 1779 located on Hay meadow and Sebastian Branch on the waters of Mulbery Creek. He built his house on a knoll near Hays, North Carolina, now owned by Lena Alexander, a descendant of Benjamin. In the 1790's he bought 241 acres of land from Phillip Johnson, which he later gave to his son John. In 1782 he leased a farm from William Lenoir located on the waters of Fishing Creek. He was to give fifteen barrels of corn, repair the fences and give four gallons of brandy if the orchard did good.
Benjamin is listed on the payroll of the Morgan District receiving pay for services in the Revolutionay War. In his will, probated in 1819, he mentions only one son, William, and Susannah Barker, who appears to be his daughter. Lewis Sebastian went to Scott County, Kentucky; William went to Madison County, Kentucky; Isaac died in Orange County, North Carolina and Elisha went to North Georgia. 2. Benjamin married Susannah Unknown about 1769 in Wilkes Co, NC. Susannah was born about 1758 in Wilkes Co, NC, died after 1810 in Wilkes Co, NC, and was buried in Sebastian Cem., Haymeadows, Wilkes Co, NC.

Susannah married Hezekiah Barker. Hezekiah was born on 19 Nov 1786 and died on 9 Feb 1860 at age 73.

+ 11 F vi. Nancy Sally Sebastian was born in 1780 in Wilkes Co, NC1 and died in 1822 in KY at age 42.
