Carroll County Deaths - 1854

 

                             

                                         Winslow and Smith to Robert Moore

                                           Deed Book , Carroll County, Kentucky, page 112, 15 August, 1853

 

 

This indenture made and entered into this 15th day of August, 1853 between W.R. Winslow and Martha Jane his wife and N.D. Smith and Mariam his wife of the one part and Robert Moore of the other part, witnesseth that where as Moses Olds in his life time to wit on the 5th of July, 1836, sold to said the Moor, the herein after described tract and covenanted to convey the same to him by way of QUIT CLAIM as soon as the purchase money should be paid as appears from his bond of that date.   Now in consideration of the promises and in  execution of said contract, the said parties of the first have bargained, sold and conveyed and by these present do bargain, sell and convey to to said Moore all their right title and and interest in and to the following described tract of land on the WATERS OF MILL CREEK IN CARROLL COUNTY, PART OF FND K ? HARRIS SURVEY TO WIT.

 

Beginning at a marked  WATERBEECH AND ELM IN LEE’S BRANCH CORNER TO WILLIAM WALLER’S LAND NEAR THE FORKS OF SAID CREEK, THENCE UP SAID BRANCH WITH THE MEANDERS TO THE BACK LINE OF THE SAID HARRIS’  SURVEY  TO A MARKED BEACH A CORNER TO THE   WIDOW SARAH GULLION’S LAND.  THENCE BY AND WITH THE BACK LINE OF SAID HARRIS’ SURVEY, NORTH 55 DEGREES, WEST TO A CORNER OF JAMES W. ENGLISH LAND, THENCE NORTH WESTWARD BY THE ENGLISH LINE TO A CORNER OF WILLIAM WALLER’S LAND.   THENCE WITH SAID WALLER’S LINE BINDING THEREON TO HIS CORNER A WHITE WALNUT AND NEAR THE ELM SPRING BRANCH THENCE WITH SAID WALLERS’ LINE TO THE BEGINNING WITH APPURTENANCES.

 

To have and to hold the said land as described with the appurtenances to him the said Moore, his heirs and assigns forever but without any liability on the parties of the first, either for quantity or title os said land.

 

WITNESS THE HAND OF THE GRANTORS THE DATE FIRST WITHIN WRITTEN.
