Obituary of Mary George Smith

Mrs. Mary E Smith was born 12 August, 1855. She died 30 October, 1927.
For twenty nine years she was a member of the Christian Church in which
faith she died. Rev. Hite in truly comforting words, delivered her
funeral discourse.
Mrs. Smith was the mother of three children, Mrs. Artie Atkins, Mrs.
Susie Foree and Mrs. Deliah Martin, the last named deceased.
Besides her own family she raised five grandchildren whom she loved
devotedly.
Her daughters  were devoted and kind, administering to her in every way
possible until the end. All sympathize with her aged husband.
There are few homes in this community who have not in  some way benefited
by her  assistance. The many flowers attested  the esteem in which she
was held.

Notes:
The newspaper clipping was given to me by Dolores Abraham, daughter of
Fred Abraham.

Mary E George Smith was a midwife in the English Community.
Family stories of Mary and her husband Robert [Doc] Smith walking the
hills around the English county side gathering herbs.
Doc, I am told had red  hair.  He was a brother to my grandfather Jesse
Smith who lived on Gilgal.
