To him were born (Marietta who married James Estes; Belle who married George Fair; Sarah who married James Shannon; Jesse who married Lelia Addington; William who married Hemie Coffey; James Clay who married Clay Rowland; Robert who married Ola Richardson; Lena who married P.H. (Henry) Taylor; Edgar who married Alice Partin; George P. who married Iona Miller; Elizabeth and Joel were never married.) To Jesse and Lelia were born Anna and McDowell. To William and Hemie were born Nannie, Bessie, Emma, Willie, and Jesse. Of these children, Nannie married a Simpson, Bessie & Melvin Judd, Willie married a Guffey, Jesse married Leota Jones (children: Mary E., Christine, and Cora May). To James Clay and wife were born Ruby and McDowell. McDowell married Roberta Murphy to which union were born Catherine Lee, Martha Clay, Roberta, Gordon, McDowell, Jr., Mary Louise, LaNelle, Billie, and Tommy.
