Leander McChesney Sawyers and Sarah Frances Booher who came to Clinton County, Kentucky in the early 1850's from Sullivan County, Tennessee. They were the parents of Frederick Hartwell Sawyers (1845), John Craig Sawyers (1847), William C. Sawyers (1849), James Walker Sawyers (1851), Mary Elizabeth Sawyers Guffey (1853), Margaret S. Sawyers Griffin (1856), Sarah Frances "Fanny" Sawyers Sheffield (1858), Nancy Eva Sawyers South (1861).
