I am looking for information on the brothers of Hamilton Ison,
b about 1833 m Caroline Harris, Carter Co., KY. He was the
son of William and Ester Hettie Hamilton Ison. He married
Caroline in 1854. They had one son William Lafayette Ison, born
1856 in Carter Co., KY. They had a daughter born in Arkansas
but she must have died young so my grandfather was their only
child. I think Hamilton must have been killed in the Civil
War in AR. as that is the last I can find him. I would love
to know anything about their family.

I am looking for information on a W.H.Farrand.I am not sure of his first
name but believe it to be Willard or Willie. I am not sure of his
birthdate but he married a Anna Maddix in 1887.He was a life long
resident of Kentucky and is said to have lived in or around Morehead. He
either lived in Elliott county or Rowan County. Any information would be

grandfather whose name is Pat Mays shows his date of birth as being
in 1908. His father's name is Austin Mays born in Elliot Co. born

Need any information on Charles Boyd GLANCY b. Sept 4, 1847 in
Laurence Co.Ky. He was married Nov 14,1867 to Martha Ellen
GALLION in Carter Co. Charles was the son of Thomas GLANCY and
Annanther HALL. Some information I have indicates that Martha
was the daughter of Lewis/Louis GALLION son of Thomas GALLION and
Ruth WATSON of Elliott Co. Does anyone know if this is correct?
Charles and Martha had the following children: Annie, Laura, James
C. b.1873 m. Mary Ellen LITTLE, William L., David M., Ella, George,
and Maggie. They were on the 1880 and 1900 Laurel Co Ky. census.
Does anyone have any information on the GALLION, GLANCY, HALL,
or LITTLE families? Any help appreciated.

The IGI shows Lucy Bennington, daughter of Hugh and Nancy JOHNSTON was
born in 1865 in Elliott Co. KY. Of course, Elliott was not yet created.
But I believe the surname should have been PENNINGTON. Can anyone verify
this?

Rubyville, Oh., son of Hayden & Vina OSBORN/ORSBAN SMITH. He md.
OSBORN, Ellen b. 11-17-1876 Elliott Co., Ky. d. 3-12-1939 Rubyville,
Oh., dtr. of James Joe & Polly/Pathe HAMILTON OSBORN.
These families were most likely from the Sandy Hook region & the
OSBORN has also been spelled ORSBAN.
John P. SMITH had a brother, James & their father left when they
were young & was not heard from again. His mother remd. to a James
GIBSON/GIPSON & they had 2 daughters, Cynthi Ellen & Lizzie[who
md. a Tackett.]
Ellen OSBORN came from a family of 6 brothers & 4 sisters, all born
in Elliott Co., I believe. One sister Lizzy md. a Lysche Branham [sp?]
She lived & died in Elliott Co. so she may still have descendants
there. Others were Jane, Emma, Alice, Hammie, Ben, John Harrison,
Walter, Wallace & Cecil.

My great grand-father was Colby Campbell SPARKS and he married Julia Belle MAUK 07-01-1905 in Elliott County. Colby Campbell SPARK'S father was Levi H. SPARKS (of Lawrence County) and his mother was
Nanby LAWSON. I am looking for any information her and her parents (unknown).
On the MAUK family, I know that Joseph "Dink" MAUK was Julia Belle MAUKS father and that her mother was Susanne BARKER.

Malinda.
