Owen Barr

 

          Owen H. Barr, 84, of Bedford, formerly of Henry County, died January 27, 2013, at the Carroll County Hospital, Carrollton.  He was the son of the late Lawrence Oldham and Mattie Wallace Barr.

            He is survived by his children: Ronald Barr, Bedford, Sharon Harden, Glasgow, Rhonda Barr, Buckner and Sharon Wright, Bedford.

            A memorial service was held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Hanuary 29th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford.

Mary Barmore

 

          Mary Rose Hall Barmore, 86, of Smithfield, died Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Jewish Shelbyville Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Anna Rose Gisiger Hall, retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Eminence Presbyterian Church. 

            She is survived by one son: Joe (Sharon) Barmore, Smithfield; one daughter: Mary E. (Stan) Parker, Ashland and granddaughter: Samantha Jo (Bryan) Bonner, Georgetown.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis J. Barmore.

            Memorial services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9th at the Presbyterian Church.  Rev. Terry Johnson, Pastor, officiated.  Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hester Beckley

 

          Hester Ethington Beckley, 91, of Pleasureville, died Friday, February 23, 2001 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Eva Payton Ethington, a homemaker and the oldest member of the Union Baptist Church.

            She is survived by two daughters: Wanda (Robert) Hickman, Florence and Martha (Charles) Atchison, Shelbyville; one sister: Lillian Fulkerson, Louisville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Beckley and one son, James H. Beckley.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Todd Woodward, Pastor of the Elmburg Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Herbert Slaughter, Pastor of the Cropper Baptist Church.

Hazel Shelton Bellebaum

 

          Hazel Shelton Bellebaum, 99, of Frankfort, died Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.  She was a bookkee4per for Kahns Clothing Store, a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Frankfort and the daughter of the late William and Lillie Lewis Shelton.

            She is survived by one sister: Georgia Shelton Woods, Smithfield; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bellebaum and three sisters.

            Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9th at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home, Frankfort.  Rev. Gale Ashby officiated.  Burial was in the Louisville Memorial Gardens, West Cemetery.

Imogene Thacker Billings

 

          Imogene Thacker Billings, 97, of LaGrange, died January 23, 2013.  She was born June 30, 1915, in Ninevah (Anderson County) to Rosetta Cole and John Thomas Thacker.  She spent her childhood in Louisville where she attended Eastern High School and her adulthood in Oldham County.

            Mrs. Billings was a homemaker and former employee of Pleasant Grove Hospital.  She was a long-time member of the Ballardsville Baptist Church – having been baptized in April 1949 – where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.  She was also a member of the Kentucky Colonels.

            She is survived by four children: Clayton E. (Mavis) Billings, Smithfield, Barbara B. F. Williams, Longwood, FL, Rosalie B. Ashley, LaGrange, Nancye B. (Ashley) Chilton, Pleasureville; daughter-in-law: Dorothy T. Billings, Greenberg, IN; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; four nieces; and six nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-seven and one-half years, Clayton Savage “Bud” Billings, a son, John Allen Billings, her parents and four sisters, Aline Cannon, Alma Mazzoli, Jessie Phillips and Mary Frances Thacker.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27th at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange.  Rev. Tommy Purvis, DeHaven Baptist Church, and Rev. Tony Wolfenbarger, Ballardsville Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery.

James Blackburn

 

          James Richard Blackburn, 49, of Eminence, died Monday, March 12, 2001 at his residence.  He was a native of Shelby Count y and a finishing supervisor at Shelby Industries.

            He is survived by his wife: Judy Robinson Blackburn, Eminence; his parents: Eugene Sr. and Willa Beach Blackburn, Shelbyville; one step-daughter: Kim Chapman, Bagdad; six brothers: Norman Blackburn, Leroy Blackburn, Tommy Blackburn and Ronnie Blackburn, all of Shelbyville, Eugene Blackburn, Jr., Simpsonville and Larry Blackburn, Finchville; one sister: Esther +Blackburn, Shelbyville; one step-granddaughter and one step-great-grandchild.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14th at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Rev. Tommy Purvis and Rev. Bill Brumley officiated.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery.

Curtis Blevins, Sr.

 

          Curtis Lee Blevins, Sr., 72, of Simpsonville, died Friday, June 29, 2001 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  He was a native of Sharpsburg (Bath County), the son of the late Walter G. and Peachie Neles Blevins, a truck driver for H. L. Davenport, a Kentucky Colonel, A U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a member of the Sinpsonville United Methodist Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Jean Gray Blevins, Simpsonville; two sons: Terry M. Blevins, Lexington and Curtis Blevins, Jr., Eminence; one daughter: Brenda F. Blevins, Lexington; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 1st, at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Rev. Art Leach officiated.  Interment was in the Simpsonville Cemetery.

Evelyn Bourne

 

          Evelyn Bourne, 83, of Owenton, died Saturday, January 26, 2013, in Louisville.  She was the daughter of the late John and Edna Heath Wainscott.

            She is survived by her daughter: Beverly L. Aldridge, Pleasureville.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29th at McDonald and New Funeral Home, Owenton.  Bro. Dale Adkins and Bro. Jesse Bourne officiated.  Interment was in the Owenton Cemetery.

James Boyer

 

          James Sanford “J” Boyer, 93, of Campbellsburg, died Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at Bedford Healthcare Center.  He was the son of the late Sanford M. and Cynthia E. Boyer, A U. S. Army Veteran of WWII, a retired farmer, a lifetime member of the DAAV, a member of the Campbellsburg Lions Club and a member of the Sulphur Baptist Church, for 51 years where he served as deacon. 

He is survived by his wife: Evelyn Martin Boyer, Campbellsburg and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23rd, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Carl Rucker, Rev. Buford Cobb and Roy Lillipop officiated.  Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.

 

 

Robert Boyer

 

          Robert Brent Boyer, 85, of Lacie, died Monday, September 3, 2001 at his residence.  He was a native of Campbellsburg, the son of the late Sanford Marion and Cynthia Jane Evans Boyer, a farmer, a member of the Masonic Lodge #249 and Turners Station Baptist Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Doris Dean Elston Boyer, Lacie; one son: Robert E. Boyer, Lynn Haven, FL; three daughters: Peggy Boyer Self, Crestwood, Pamela Dean Boyer Ball, Campbellsburg and Margaret “Midge” Boyer Cox, Pendleton; one brother: J. S. Boyer, Campbellsburg; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one son, Marion Ballard Boyer.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Bro. Carl Rucker officiated.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Willard Boyer

 

          Willard C. Boyer, 63, of Campbellsburg, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at his residence.  He was a native of Breckinridge County, the son of the late George R. and Patsy Clary Boyer, a retired computer specialist for Reliance and a member of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Ruby M. Boyer, Campbellsburg; two sons: Dave W. Boyer and Mike Boyer, both of Campbellsburg; one brother: Robert McCoy, Louisville; one sister: Ann Embry, Louisville; several half-sisters and brothers sand four grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11th at the Campbellsburg Baptist Church.  Rev. Carl Rucker and Rev. Russell Winn officiated.  Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.  Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Bailey Bramblett

 

          Bailey Bramblett, 76, of Defoe, died Monday, January 29, 2001 at his residence after an illness.  He was the son of the late Frank and Rebecca Downey Bramblett, a retired auto mechanic and a member of the Eminence Christian Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Gladys Adams Bramblett, Defoe; one daughter: Betty (Richard) Parker, Golden, CO; one sister: Irene Adams, Pleasureville; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1st at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Bill Brumley, Hospice of Louisville, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Julian Brewer

 

          Julian G. Brewer, 81, of Pleasureville, died Sunday, January 20, 2002 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  He was the son of the late Alex Thomas and Nettie Rucker Brewer, a farmer a Shelbyville Tobacco Warehouse worker and a 66 year member of the Defoe Christian Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Leola Dale Brown Brewer, Pleasureville; one son: J. Ray Brewer, Pleasureville; one brother: Lucien Brewer, Pleasureville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was prece3ded in death by one daughter, Donna Garrett.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22nd at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Carl L. Rucker officiated, assisted by Rev. Charles Waugaman.  Burial was in the Defoe Cemetery.

Earl Crayne

 

          Earl C. Crayne, 87, of Port Richey, FL, formerly of Henry County, died Friday, March 5, 2004 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson, FL.  He was a native of Marion County, a retired purchaser for Ford Motor Company and a founding member of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, Port Richey.

            He is survived by one daughter: Gari-Lynne Crayne, Bayonet Point, FL.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Urith Ellis Crayne.

Robert Curtis

 

          Robert T. Curtis, 71, of Eminence, died Friday, January 16, 2009 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  He was the son of the late Dewey Simpson and Nellie Pearl Shaw Curtis, a former employee of Phillip Morris and a U. S. Army Veteran.

            He is survived by his wife: Donna Mann Curtis, Eminence; one son: Robert Douglas Curtis, Charlotte, NC; one daughter: Suzanne Curtis Patrick, Bardstown; three brothers: Buddy Curtis, Eminence, Edward Curtis, Memphis, TN and Terry Curtis, Utica, IN; three sisters: Elizabeth Wilson, Marrowbone, Shirley Nash, Greenwood, IN and Becky Wabnitz, Nortonville and eight grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19th, at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Rev. Michael Brunzo, Sr. officiated.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Mary Crute

 

          Mary Josie Schooler Crute, 95, of Cincinnati, formerly of Frankfort died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Norwood Retirement Community, Cincinnati, OH.  She was a native of Lockport, the daughter of the late Stephen B. and Elizabeth Florence James Beverly. 

            She is survived by three grandchildren: Susan Maginniss, Jennifer Adams and Stephen Schooler and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Crute and one son, Charles Edward Schooler.

            Graveside services were held at the Pleasureville Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 23rd.  George H. Rohde and son Funeral Home, Cincinnati, OH was in charge of arrangements.

Jennie Moore Curry

 

          Jennie Moore Curry, 67, of Smithfield, died Monday, march 2, 2009.  Daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Hancock Moore, she was the owner/operator of Curry’s Carpet.  Jennie was a member of the Smithfield Baptist Church and the Smithfield Homemakers.

            She is survived by her husband: V. G. Curry, Smithfield; one son: Shane (Tracy) Curry, New Castle; a daughter-in-law, Susan Curry, Shelbyville; one sister: Hazel Milam, Louisville; two brothers: Bill Moore and Johnnie Moore, Greensburg; and three grandchildren: Tyler, Sheldon and Tray Curry.  She was preceded in death by one son, Tim Curry.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4th at the Smithfield Baptist Church.  Rev. Ed Life, Pastor of the Smithfield Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

          William B. Dempsey, 79, of Frankfort, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his daughter’s residence.  He was the son of the late Willie Dempsey and Katherine West Dempsey.

            He is survived by two daughters: Debra Armstrong, Frankfort and Melissa Harrod, Lawrenceburg.

            Funeral ser vices were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 4th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Bro. Brian Dill officiated.  Interment was in the Campbellsburg Cemetery.

Betty Jane LeCompte Douglas

 

          Betty Jane LeCompte Douglas, 79, of Franklinton, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Homestead Nursing Center in new Castle.  She was born in Shelbyville and was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Bertha Kyle LeCompte.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Franklinton Baptist Church.

            She is survived by two sons: Steven (Thelma) Douglas, Eminence and Phillip (Cindy) Douglas, Franklinton; two daughters: Kathleen (Bobby) Erwin, Franklinton and Lynette (John David) Yount, Eminence; two brothers: Eugene (Evelyn) LeCompte and Jerry (Christine), all of Eminence; one sister: Helen Locklear, Dayton, OH; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Douglas, three sisters and six brothers.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31st, at the Franklinton Baptist Church.  Rev. Jacky Newton, Pastor of the Franklinton Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Bill William Downey

 

          Bill William Downey, 56, of Eminence, died Saturday, January 19, 2013.  He was born in Shelbyville and was a member of the Eminence Christian Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Ida Bell Willhite Downey, Eminence; his mother: Rosetta Roberts Downey, Pleasureville; two sons: Troy Downey and Anthony Downey, both of Eminence; and one daughter: Mindy Downey, Eminence.

            Funeral Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22nd at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Thomas Minton, Pastor of the Eminence Christian Church, and J. T. Stinson officiated.  Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Robert Elliston

 

          Robert C. “Bobby” Elliston,90, of Campbellsburg, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Baptist Hospital Northeast, LaGrange.  He was the son of the late Ceorge and Mayme Ethington Elliston.

            He is survived by one son: Daniel Elliston, Campbellsburg.

            Cremation was chosen.  Memorial graveside services were held.  Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Clara Gividen

 

          Clara L. Tucker, 80, died on January 19, 2013, at Norton Brownsboro in Louisville.  She was the daughter of the late John E. and Rebecca S. Adkins Tucker.

            She is survived by her husband: Donald Gividen; and two children: Landy Clark, Campbellsburg and John Dale Gividen, Florida.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23rd             at the Providence Baptist Church in Trimble County.  Bro. Mike Huff and Bro. Mike McCaerter officiated.  Ransdell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Golden

 

          Dorothy Ann Most Golden, 80, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, February 8, 2001 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  She was the daughter of the late Albert and Christine Brunner Most, a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

            She is survived by six sons: Ronald Golden, Bethlehem, Harold Golden, Maryville, Roger Golden, new Castle, Jerry Golden, Davie, FL, Chilion Golden, Pleasureville and Dennie Moore, Louisville; one step-brother: Harold Webster, Cincinnati, OH; one step-sister: Norma Hukill, Brownsboro, TX; twelve grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanetta Ruth Golden and one granddaughter.

            Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11th at the Bethlehem 

United Methodist Church.  Rev. Larry Gardner officiated, assisted by Rev. Bettie Rich Coleman and Rev Leroy Jones.  Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Etta Golden

 

          Etta Ree Golden, 98, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Twin Oaks Assisted Living in new Castle.  She was the daughter of the late John and Zoda Thomas Fritz.

            She is survived by one daughter: Sara Crowe, Campbellsburg and one son: Robert Golden, Louisville.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. February 13th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Shawn Golden, Pastor of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

Arnold Gordon, Jr.

 

          Arnold Gordon, Jr., 48, of Franklinton, died Thursday, June 21, 2001 at Tri-County Hospital, LaGrange.  He was a native of Estill County, the son of the late Arnold and Reva McKinney Gordon, Sr., a member of the Barnes Mountain Baptist Church, Irvine and attended the Franklinton Baptist Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Bettie Wheeler Gordon, Franklinton; two daughters: Reva (Ron) Golder, Portsmouth, VA and Stephanie Wheeler, Eminence; three sons: Willia A. Gordon, Irvine, James Lee Gordon, Lebanon and John Allen Wheeler, Eminence; five sisters: Argathel Farler, Midway, LaDonna Ellis Eminence, Harriett Garcia, Georgetown, Regina Reed, Irvine, and Leann Gordon, Richmond; two brothers: Ivan Gordon, Pleasureville and Donald K. Gordon, Richmond and ten grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23rd at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Jackie Newton, Pastor of the Franklinton Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Mike Huff, Family Minister at harvest Community Church, Eminence.  Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

George Gordon

 

          George Bryan Gordon, 66, of Crestwood, formerly of Eminence, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at the Tri-County Hospital, LaGrange.  He was a native of Uniontown, PA, the son of the late William and Ann Holup Gordon, a laborer for Clayton and Lambert MFG., Buckner, and a member of the Crestwood Moose Lodge.

            He is survived by his wife: Mary Happel Gordon, Crestwood; one daughter: Patricia (Todd) Tindall, Shelbyville; two step-daughters: Bonnie Huettig, Nashville, TN, and Penny Akers, Eastwood; one step-son: Eric Happel, Andover, KS; and four brothers: Billy Gordon, Shelbyville, Levi Gordon, Ronnie Gordon and Eddie all of Eminence.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Arnsparger Gordon.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

          Nettie Howard Gosser, 76, of Pleasureville, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at Baptist Hospital Northeast, LaGrange.  Daughter of the late James and Emma Cuzick Howard, and a homemaker,  She was a member of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church.

            She is survived by two sons: David H. Gosser, Louisville and Gary T. (Donna K.) Gosser, Campbellsburg; two sisters: Alene Dalhoff, Floyd Knobs, IN and Ernestine Brown, Jeffersonville, In; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Van Firestine of Lexington officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Martha Gowen

 

          Martha L. Gowen, 73, of Louisville, died Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville.  Daughter of the late Gayle and Anna Smith Hawkins, she was a member of Christ Open Door Fellowship Church.

            She is survived by two sons: Keith Gowen and Greg (Lori) Gowen, all of Louisville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Gowen, two brothers, Maurice and Robert Hawkins and one sister, Marcia Tharp.

            Funeral Services were held at noon Monday, September 17th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Sister Linda Morgan, Pastor of Christ Open Door Fellowship Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

          Elsie Clifford Graves, 85, of Sulphur, died Sunday, January 25, 2004 in LaGrange.  She was a native of Trimble County, the daughter of the late Roger and Virgie Wright Clifford, a housewife and a member of the Sligo Baptist Church.

            She is survived by one daughter: Evon Horn, Sulphur; one brother: Wayne Clifford, San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Graves and one grandson.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. January 28th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford.  Brother Earl Wayne Perry officiated.  Interment was in the Sligo Cemetery.

Michael Lynn Gravitt

 

          Michael Lynn Gravitt, 58, of Eminence, died Monday, October 29, 2012 at his residence.  He was a member of the Eminence United Pentecostal Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Regina Chisholm Gravitt, Eminence; one son: Michael Ray Gravitt, Eminence; two daughters: Heather Roberts, Danville and Raven Sky Gravitt, Eminence; his mother: Manila Mae Dorton Gravitt, Frankfort; one brother: Orville Mason Gravitt, Jr., Frankfort; and two grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father, Orville Mason Gravitt, Sr.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1st at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Robert Eades, Pastor of the Eminence United Pentecostal Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Mattie Green

 

          Funeral services for Miss Mattie Green, 85, who died Friday night, April 7, 1950, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Merchant in Sulphur were held at the Methodist Church, on Sunday afternoon.  Rev. E. H. Insko officiated, assisted by Rev. Charles Stanrich, Pastor of the Baptist Church.  Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

            Miss Green, daughter of the late John F. and Lucy Green, North Pleasureville, moved to Sulphur 27 years ago to live with her cousin, Mrs. Fannie Yager.  After the death of Mrs. Yager she lived her last 12 years with Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Merchant.

            Her only survivors are several cousins.

Orba Gregory

 

          Orba Lee Gregory, 83, of Eminence, died Friday, May 31, 2002 at Tri-County Baptist Hospital, LaGrange.  He was the son of the late John W. and Maudie Peak Gregory, a farmer and a member of the Eminence Church of God.

            He is survived by his wife: Beatrice Young Gregory, Eminence; one son: Roy Gregory, Sr., Campbellsburg; three daughters: Martha Lisby Gregory, Eminence, Betty Craig, Pleasureville, and Kathleen Coyle, Louisville; one brother: John W. Gregory, Chatsworth, GA; two sisters: Anna Mae Shouse, Mt. Eden and Mary Jennings, Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 3rd, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Steve Galyon officiated.  Burial was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Mable Griffith

 

          Mable Frances Griffith, 83, of Turners Station, died Thursday, October 16, 2003 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Carl and Margaret Jackson Chilton, a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.

            She is survived by one son: Terry Griffith, Canaan, IN; two brothers: Randolph Chilton, Turners Station and James “Buddy” Chilton, Lawrenceburg; and one sister: Dorothy Jean Beverly.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Willam M. Griffith, her daughter, Connie Jean Rigsby, two brothers and one sister.

            Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 19th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Earl Wayne Perry and Rev. Ron Laughlin officiated.  Burial was in the Turners Station Cemetery.

William Griffith

 

          William M. Griffith, 83, of Campbellsburg, died Friday, August 2, 2002 at Tri-County Hospital, LaGrange.  He was a native of Carroll County, the son of the late Marion and Eva Swafford Griffith, a Veteran of the U. S. Army, foreman at the highway department in Indiana and a member of the Methodist Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Mable Chilton Griffith, Campbellsburg; one son: Terry Griffith, Pleasant, IN; one sister: Eula Mae Garrett, Ocala, FL; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Jean Rigsby.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 5th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Bro. Ron Laughlin officiated.  Interment was in the Turners Station Cemetery.

Margaret Grigsby

 

          Margaret Frances Perry Grigsby, 84, of Pleasureville, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville.  She was the daughter of the late Sam and Bertha Beckley Perry, a member of the Pleasureville Baptist Church and a homemaker.

            She is survived by three sons: Bobby (Doris) Grigsby, Eminence, Ronnie (Charlotte) and Gary (Betty) Grigsby, all of Pleasureville; two daughters: Pam (Ray) Whitaker and Teresa (Mac) Banta, all of Pleasureville; one brother: Sammy Perry, Pleasureville; one sister: Hester Carter, Pleasureville; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elmer Grigsby, four sisters, Mary Lee Adams, Ruth Rucker, Anna Stivers and Willena Rucker and one brother, Charlie Perry.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 21st at the Pleasureville Baptist Church.  Rev. Jerry Anderson officiated assisted by Rev. Jim Lowe.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Marjorie Grobmeier

 

          Marjorie Grobmeier, 74, of Carrollton, died Tuesday, December 19, 2001 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.  She was a native of Gallatin County, the daughter of the late Ezra and Lucy Kendall Duncan, retired from Kawneer Corporation and a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church.

            She is survived by four daughters: Sharon Hunt, Carrollton, Charlotte Dunavent, Warsaw, Diane Hornbeck, Madison, IN and Anna McIntosh, Campbellsburg; two sons: Ronald Grobmeier, Louisville and David Grobmeier, Livermore, CA; one brother: Ezra Ray Duncan, Florence; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbett J. “Grubby” Grobmeier.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22nd at the Carrollton United Methodist Church.  Rev. Julian Simpson and Rev. David Westerfield officiated.  Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.  Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lula Gross

 

          Lula Mack Gross, 82, of LaGrange, formerly of Winchester, died Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at Tri-County Hospital, LaGrange.  She was the daughter of the late Mack and Rosa Warner Montgomery and a homemaker.

            She is survived by one son: Harold Groos, Jr., LaGrange; one daughter: Mary Bastin, Sulphur; one brother: Harold L. Montgomery, Winchester; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and nine step-great- grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gross, Sr., and one son, George Michael Gross.

            Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 12th at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home.  Rev. Barry Broyles, LaGrange Assembly of God, officiated.  Burial was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

          Gary Grubbs, 58, died Thursday, may 24, 2012, at his home.

            He is survived by nine children: Nora Grubbs Carlin, Josiah Grubbs, Hannah Grubbs, Micah Grubbs, Leah Grubbs, Caleb Grubbs and Jesse Grubbs, all of Fort Worth, TX, Jacob Grubbs, Long Beach, CA and Jedidiah Grubbs, Austin, TX and his mother: Betty Jean Chisholm Grubbs, Alamo, TX.

            Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29th at Kornbleet Memorial Chapel, Ahavath Sholom Cemetery.
