Ray Thompson

 

          Ray Thompson, 72, of Frankfort, died Sunday, October 27, 2002 at his residence.  He was the son of the late Samuel and Ethel Eddins Thompson, a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a retired state employee and a member of the Lockport Baptist Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Susie Floyd Thompson, Frankfort; two sons: Terry Thompson, Georgetown and Jim Thompson, Frankfort; four sisters: Anna Belle Wentworth, LaGrange, Sue West, Louisville, Delores (K.C.) Armstrong, Jeffersonville, IN and Sherrill (Danny) Welch, Gestville; four brothers: Lawrence Thompson, Crestwood, Elmer Thompson, Bethlehem, Bruce Thompson, Milford, OH and Bill Thompson, Louisville and one granddaughter.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Wayne Kelly, Pastor of the Lockport Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Claudine Tingle

 

          Claudine S. Tingle, 81, of Campbellsburg, died Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at her residence.  She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late Henry Watterson and Mable Lee Stewart, a homemaker and a member of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church.

            She is survived by one son: Randy Tingle, Campbellsburg; one daughter: Donna Sue Garrett, Campbellsburg; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. �Dolly� Tingle.

            Funeral services were held at !:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Nick Coleman officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Zelma True

 

          Zelma T. True, 81, of Eminence, died Monday, May 28, 2001 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  She was the daughter of the late Jordan and Susie Smithers Hawkins and member of the Eminence Christian Church.

            She is survived by two daughters: Emma Sue True and Mary Katherine True, both of Eminence; two sons: Carroll True and Lynn True, both of Eminence; one sister: Mary belle Prather, Eminence; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard True and one son, Louis True.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30th at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.  Rev. Terrye Williams, Pastor of the Eminence Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Joyce Watkins

 

          Joyce Nalley Watkins, 65, of Eminence, died Thursday, June 14, 2001 at Baptist East Hospital, Louisville, after a long illness.  She was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Margaret Emma Justice Nalley and a member of the Drennon Christian Church.

            She is survived by six daughters: Dolly Tucker, Louisville, Brenda Dilley, Vaughn, MN, Jean (Raymond, Jr.) Parsons, Smithfield, Julie (Donald) Wilson, Bedford, Donna (Robert) Tipton, Defoe, and Anna Marie Carey, Eminence; two sons: James Eldridge, Smithfield and William R. Parks, New Castle; one sister: Beatrice (George) Crawford, Turners Station; one brother: J. W. Nalley, New Castle; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Ron Laughlin, Pastor of the Port Royal United Methodist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Bedford IOOF Cemetery.

Doris Weeks

 

          Doris B. (Dot) Weeks, 79, of Pleasureville, formerly of Weir, MI, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Arthur and Eva Gay Rabun Bond, a homemaker and member of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

            She is survived by two sons: Roy Weeks,Jr., Pleasureville and Steve Weeks, Rome, GA; one daughter: Patti (Saxton) Scarborough, Gastonia, NC, two brothers: Derwin Bond, Mobile, AL and Glenn Bond, Taylorsville, MI; two sisters: Sue Huffman, Winona, Minn. and Myrtle Irwing, Weir, MI; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Weeks, Sr.

            Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5th at the Pleasureville United Methodist Church.  Rev. Lynn Farlee, Pastor of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church, officiated.  Burial was in the Weir Cemetery, Weir, MI.  Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville was in charge of arrangements.

Herbert Welsh

 

          Herbert �Eane� Welsh, 83, of Bedford, died Sunday, May 27, 2001 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  He was a native of Glenmary, the son of the late Preston and Callie Dunaway Welsh, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a mechanic.

            He is survived by his wife: Laverne Welsh, Bedford; one son: Sonny Welsh, Bedford and one grandson.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30th, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford.  Bro. Ferrell Davis officiated.  Interment was in the Moffett Cemetery.

Steve Yeary

 

          Steve Yeary, 48, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, June 9, 2001 at his residence.  He was a native of Shelbyville, the son of the late Jasper Lloyd and Virginia Mae Harlow Yeary and attended Elmburg Baptist Church.

            He is survived by one brother: Dennis Yeary, Eminence.

            A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 12th at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home in Shelbyville.  Rev. Garry Polston officiated.  A private interment was held at the Bagdad Cemetery.
