Mabel Vest

 

Mabel W. Vest, 85, of Bedford, died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  She was the daughter of the late James and Lora Dyke Smith. 

She is survived by her son: Phillip Vest, Bedford; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband: Bernard Vest and one son: Bobby Vest. 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford.  Johnny McDowell officiated.

Juanita Robinson Wade

 

Juanita Robinson Wade, 90, of Eminence, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Crestview Health and Rehab in Shelbyville.  Daughter of the late Russell “Bozo” and Myrtle Smith Robinson, she worked as a file clerk with the Kentucky Economic Security Office, and was a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. 

She is survived by one sister: Pauline Martin, Frankfort; three nieces: Faye Hyde, Shelbyville, Diana Robinson, Louisville, and Debbie Asbell, Lexington, and one nephew, Ron Martin, Frankfort.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wade. 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13th, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.  Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Lillian Walters

 

Lillian Bernier Walters, 90, died Monday, January 24, 2011, in Pleasureville.  She was the daughter of the late Ernest Bernier and Lillian Frank Bernier. 

She is survived by two sons: Jim Walters, Pleasureville; and George Walters, Waterbury, Conn. 

Interment was in the Prospect (Conn.) Cemetery.

Anthony Watson

 

Anthony L. Watson, 54, of Eminence, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  Son of the late Willie Watson, he was a U.S. Army Veteran. 

He is survived by four daughters: Sharon Watson Utsey, Ocean Springs, MS, Shantae Watson Rorex, Radcliff, Shanna Watson, Louisville and Brittany Staples, Eminence; one son: Anthony L. Watson II, Radcliff; and his mother: Dorothy Blade3 Watson, Eminence. 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 7th, at the Eminence First Baptist Church.  Rev. Robert J. Fields, associate pastor, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.  Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Patrick Weeks, Sr.

 

Patrick Henry Weeks, Sr., 59, of Eminence, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  He was the son of the late Barney Walker Weeks. 

He is survived by his wife: Pamela Weeks, Eminence; two sons: Patrick Henry Weeks, Jr., Boyle, MS and Paul Henry Weeks, Eminence; one daughter: Jennifer Teresa Weeks, South Haven, MS and his mother: Mildred Moore, Keithville, LA. 

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.

Lillie Whitaker

 

Lillie Mae Wills Whitaker, 78, of Louisville, died Thursday, April 7, 20011, at Norton Pavilion Hosparus In-Patient Unit. 

She is survived by her husband: Stephen Whitaker, Louisville;  two daughters: Joetta Brashaw, Blackstone, VA and LaDonna Allen, Finchville; three sons: David Colvin and Gary Dobson, both of Louisville and Willis Thornton, Shelbyville. 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, Apruil11, 2011, at Webb Funeral Home.  Rev J.R. Hutchinson delivered the eulogy.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery

William White

 

William Taylor “W. T.” White, 89, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.  He was the son of the late W. T. “Bill” and Loddie Moore White. 

He is survived by his wife: Carroll White, Simpsonville; children: James “Jim” E. White, William T. “Billy” White, Michael “Mike” White, all of Shelbyville and Jeanne Kemper, Bagdad. 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 15th, at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Rev. Lee Bean officiated.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery.

Russell Willhite

 

Russell Lee Willhite, 75, of Smithfield, died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at The Richwood in LaGrange.  He was the son of the late Russell J. and Ruby Crawford Willhite. 

He is survived by one son: Ricky “Chic” Willhite, Eminence; two daughters: Kathy Powell, Sulphur and Brenda Wright, Lexington. 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18th, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville.

Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Robert Wilson

 

Robert H. “Rob” Wilson, 65, of Smithfield, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  He was the son of the late Robert and Martha Harbison Wilson and a U.S. Army Veteran.   

He is survived by his wife: Julianne Wilson, Smithfield; and one daughter: Ashley Wilson. 

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 10th, at the Henry Christian Church.  Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.  Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Winters

 

Gladys Murphy Winters, 83, of Eminence, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Signature Health Care in Louisville.  Daughter of the late Louis and Effie May Morris Murphy, She was a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her daughter: Faye West, Eminence; one brother: Walter David Murphy, Jeffersontown; and one grandson: Jonathan “J.R.” Chisholm and his wife, Kathy, Eminence.  She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond C. Winters; four brothers and three sisters. 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21st at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Bagdad Cemetery.
