Howard Adams

 

Howard Adams, 85, of Owenton, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at his residence.

 

He was the son of the late Joseph Andrew and Mary Liza Huff Adams.  He is survived by his wife: Hannah Johnson Adams; four daughters: Mary Elizabeth Cantron, Stamping Ground, Bonnie Marie Glass, Joan Gayle Kincaid and Patsy Ann Marshall, all of Owenton; and a son: William Ray Adams, New Castle.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 21st, at McDonald and New Funeral Home, Owenton.  Brother John Thomas and Bro. Michael Kincaid officiated.  Interment was in the Stamping Ground Cemetery.

Joanne Smith Adcock

 

Joanne Smith Adcock, 66, of Pendleton, died Friday, December 27, 2002 at her residence.  She was a retired employee of Wal-Mart, LaGrange for 11 years; a member of the New Castle Christian Church and the daughter of the late Joe and Frances Callaway Smith, Jr.

 

She is survived by her tow grandsons: Bobby Lynn Heightchew and Michael Branden Baxter, both of Pendleton; two great-grandchildren: Bobby Lynn Heightchew, Jr. and Debra shy Lynn Heightchew, both of Pendleton.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Adcock Baxter and her brother, Joe Smith III.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Nick Coleman officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Agnes Allen

 

Agnes Kelley Allen, 85, of Eminence, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at Homestead Nursing Center, new Castle.  She was the daughter of the late Will and Flora Cottrell Kelley, and a member of the Eminence Christian Church.

 

She is survived by one daughter: Betty Lynn (Dane) Hicks, Elizabethtown; one son: John David Allen, Eminence; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild and two step great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held Friday, November 14th at 1:00 p.m. at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.   Rev. Sharon Fields, Pastor of the Eminence Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Lindsey Allen, Sr.

 

Lindsey Franklin “Bootsy” Allen, Sr., 41, of Shelbyville, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  A native of Shelby County, he is the son of the late John Allen, Jr., a retired sergeant for the Eminence Police Department and attended Bethel A.M.E. Church.

 

He is survived by his wife: Vivian Chambers Allen; one daughter: Amy L. Allen; one son: Lindsey F. Allen II; his mother: Rose Amy Covington Allen; one sister: Janelda Allen Dawkins; two brothers: David Fulton Allen and Bernard Frederick Allen and one grandchild, all of Shelbyville.

 

Funeral services were held at 1:oo p.m., Tuesday, March 4th at the Bethel A.M.E. Church.  Rev. Robert M. Marshall, Sr. officiated.  Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Logan Arnsparger

 

Logan Arnsparger, 80, of Pleasureville, died Saturday, September 6, 2003 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  He was the son of the late Clifton and Lora Knight Arnsparger, a member of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church, a farmer, retired from GE, and a WWII Army Veteran.

 

He is survived by three daughters: Dottie Case and Janis Mathis, both of Shelbyville and Nancy Click, Worthington, OH; grandchildren: Greg and Lee Ann Wood, Alice and Ellen Mathis and Robyn and Goeffrey Click; three great-grandchildren: Morgan and Megahan Wood and Ashlyn Mathis; and his friends: Gayla dn Zachary Stalker.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Lyons Arnsparger.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, September 10th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Don Hatton officiated, assisted by Rev. Colin Curtis.  Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Ray Atchison                                                                                            

 

Ray Atchison, 76, of Eminence, died suddenly on Monday, December 6, 1993 at his residence.  He was a native of Bourbon County, a retired carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. 

 

He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Tucker Ashby Atchison, Eminence; two daughters: Patricia Carwile, Shelbyville and Sandy Atchison, Eminence; two sons: William T. Atchison, Pleasureville and Donald Ray Atchison, New Castle; one sister: Minnie (James) Pollard, Pleasureville; three brothers: Owen Atchison, New Castle, Charles Atchison, Shelbyville, and Marvin Atchison, Smithfield; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Hazel Marie Austin

 

Hazel Marie Austin, 93, of Bluffton, OH, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.  She was born March 1, 1919, near Lafayette, OH, to John Henry and Marie Howe Klinger.  In 1945 she married Robert Austin.  He preceded her in death in 1998.

 

Mrs. Austin retired from the Chrysler Jeep Corp., Toledo, OH.  She attended the Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton.

 

She is survived by three grandchildren: Denise (Lorry) Hansen, New Castle, Sarita (Kevin) Raine, Clarksville, TN and Dennis (Samantha) Miskell, Castroville, CA; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother: James (Donna) Klinger, Ada; a sister-in-law: Pauline Klinger, Bluffton and a nephew: John Klinger, Cairo, Egypt.  She was preceded in death by a daughter: Shirley Miskell,; a grandson: Dean Miskell; two brothers: Russell and Roy Klinger and two sisters: Doris Everett and Dorothy Bagley.

 

Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28th at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton, OH.  Rev. Charles Warren and Kathy Brauen officiated.  Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 30th at the New Castle Cemetery.  Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Richard Aylor

 

Richard Lawrence Aylor, 45, of Campbellsburg died Sunday, January 5, 2003 in Oldham County.  He was a native of Covington, formerly of Hebron, a construction laborer, a farmer, and a member of the Southeast Christian Church, Louisville.

 

He is survived by his wife: Cherri Shircliffe Aylor, Campbellsburg; parents: Stanley and Nancy Aylor, Petersburg; four daughters: Shannon (Darrell) Treece, Pleasureville, Jessie Aylor, Louisville, Rachel Aylor, Bedford, and Julia Aylor, Campbellsburg; one son: Matthew Aylor, Campbellsburg; and two sisters: Carolyn (Jim) Roth, Petersburg and Ruth (Robert) Stidham, Lawrenceburg, IN.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Darrell Treece, Pastor of Canby Tabernacle Church, Owen County officiated.  Interment was in the Chaplin Cemetery, Chaplin, KY.

Kimberly Banta

 

Kimberly Bernice Banta, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Banta of Eminence, died Tuesday, January 22, 1974 at th4e Children’s Hospital in Louisville.

 

Other survivors include her paternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Banta, Eminence and her maternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mobley, Shelbyville.  Her great-grandparents are Alex McKinney, Versailles, Maude Banta, Eminence, Pauline Yount, Bagdad and Lida Mobley, Anchorage.

 

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25th at the Eminence Baptist Church.  Rev. Floyd Whistler, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Janet Clubb Bastin

 

Janet Clubb Bastin, 59, of Pleasureville, died Friday, January 2, 2009, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  She was a homemaker, a member of the Smithfield Baptist Church and a daughter of the late John Boyd Clubb.

 

She is survived by her husband: Russell Bastin, Pleasureville; two daughters: Amanda Ott and husband, Jeffrey, Pleasureville and LeeAnn Gamble and husband, Josh, Shelbyville; two sons: John Bastin and wife, Chasidy, Pleasureville and Joseph B. Bastin and wife, Ashley, New Castle; her mother: Lois Whaley Clubb, Pleasureville; one sister: Robin Hawkins, Bedford; and four grandchildren: Timothy Bastin, Sydney Bastin, Sara Kate Bastin and Jacob Bastin.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2008, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Bert Morgan, Sulphur, officiated.  Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Mark Bastin

 

Mark Timothy Bastin, 40, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009.  He was an accountant for Humana Corp., a member of the Campbellsburg Christian Church and a former Cub Scout leader for Pack 450.  He was the son of the late Elouise Acree.

 

He is survived by his wife: Jenny Bastin; two children: Terri and Mark Bastin; his father: Larry “Bill” Bastin and wife, Mary; three sisters: Laura Stough, Pan Payton and Teresa Acree and two stepbrothers: Todd and Chris Peyton.  He was preceded in death by his stepdad, James Acree.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25th at the Oldham County Funeral Home, LaGrange.  Burt Morgan officiated.  Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

William E. “PeeWee” Batts

 

William E. “PeeWee” Batts, 72, of New Castle, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at Crestview Care and Rehab in Shelbyville.  Son of the late Eugene and Eloise Mitchell Batts, he was a member of the New Castle Baptist Church.

 

He is survived by one daughter: Lori Batts Cobb and husband, Brandon, New Castle and one granddaughter: Marley Jane Cobb.  He was preceded in death by one brother, John M. Batts.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Dr. David Charlton, Pastor of the New Castle Baptist Church, officiated.

Dorothy Berry

 

Dorothy Sue Berry, 68, of Carrollton, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at the University of Louisville Hospital.  Daughter of the late John Daniel and Mary Mertz Berry, she was a native of Henry County.  She was also a member of Family Worship Center in Carrollton.

 

She is survived by three daughters: Angie Lamkin, Georgia, Patty Stivender and husband, Phil, Lexington and Kimberly King, Carrollton; two sons: Tony Colbert, Carrollton and Jeff Colbert, Louisville; two brothers: Gene Berry, Port Royal and Wayne Berry, Louisville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21st, at the port Royal Cemetery.  Bro Bimp McAllister officiated.  Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Berry

  

Mary Powell Berry, 79, of Port Royal, died Wednesday, April 1, 1998 at her residence after a long illness.  She was a native of Owen County, the daughter of the late Jesse and Goldie Blackburn Powell, a retired clerk at Webster’s Drug Store, Carrollton, for 22 years and a member of the Port Royal Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by one daughter: Vickie (Mike) Townsend, Port Royal; one son: Steven Berry, LaGrange; one sister: Dorothy Powell, Cincinnati, OH; and two grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Berry.

 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4th at the Port Royal Baptist Church.  Rev. Carl Rucker, Pastor of the Port Royal Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.  Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Berry

 

Thomas Morton Berry, 68, of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Eminence, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, in Fort Myers.  He was the son of the late Fred L. and Madeline Ball Berry, a graduate of Eminence High School and the University of Kentucky. 

 

He is survived by his wife: Suzanne Aaron Berry, Fort Myers, Fl.; two daughters: Bridgid Pelfrey and husband, Jody, Fort Myers, FL and Erin Kathleen Berry, New York City; one step-daughter: Carly Aaron, Fort Myers, FL; two sisters: Martha Lewis, Crestwood and Dianna Trimarke, St. Louis, MO; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 2nd at the Eminence Cemetery.  Rev. James Lewis officiated.  Prewitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Berry

 

William E. Berry, 72, of Port Royal, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at Kindred Hospital, Louisville.  Son of the late Forest “Ike” and Laura Ellen Tingle Berry, he was a construction superintendent for A.P. Whitaker and Sons in Massachusetts.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a fifty year Mason with the New Castle Simpson Lodge #189.

 

He is survived by his wife: Patricia Whitaker Berry, Port Royal; three daughters: Donna O’Toole and husband, Marty, Naples, FL, Diane Coykendall and husband, Richard, Venice, FL and Darlene Logan and husband, Ricky, Cape Cod, MA; one son: Todd Berry and wife, Dianna, Luana, IA; one sister: Artie Messemer, Indiana; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Berry Woodard.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Carl Rucker, of Campbellsburg, officiated, assisted by Rev. Matt Salas, Pastor the Port Royal Baptist Church.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Louie Bland

 

Louie Bland, 71, of Balltown, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at his residence.  He was the son of the late William Tilford and Louise “Bill” Matthews Bland, a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and retired from White Stone Company.

 

He is survived by his wife: Emily Whitfill Bland, Balltown; six children: Wayne Bland, Lewisport, Cindy Kennedy, Louisville, Lois Porter, Elizabethtown, Mark Bland and wife Sonya, Harned; Mary Lou Bryant and husband, Allen, Eminence and Beth Willis and husband, Walter, Falls of Rough; one sister: Dolores Mattingly, Hardinsburg; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one grandson, two sisters: Jan Dailey and Sharon McGary and one brother: Paul Bland.

 

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19th at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.  Interment was in the church cemetery.  Trent Dowell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Blakemore

 

Anna Mae Kent Blakemore, 97, died Monday 29, 2008 in Shelbyville.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Dover Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by her son: Bob Blakemore and wife, Roberta, LaGrange; one daughter: Ann Griffin and husband, Don, Smithfield; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Rev. Lee Bean officiated.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Jamie Broughton Bohannon, 27, of LaGrange, formerly of Shelbyville, died Friday, August 24, 2007, at the University of Louisville Hospital due to complications from a brain aneurysm.  She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

 

She is survived by her husband: Johnny Bohannon, LaGrange; five sons: Bryce Drury, Luke Drury, Tanner Drury, Hunter Drury and Austin Bohannon, all of LaGrange; one daughter: Ashland Drury, LaGrange; her mother: Sheryl Denise Perry, Shelbyville; father: Jame3s “Jimmie” Wesley Broughton, Shelbyville; one sister: Angela Ryan, Shelbyville; and two brothers: Joe Ray Sacra and Chris Broughton, both of Shelbyville.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29th at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home in Shelbyville.  Rev. Jerry Shelly officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Reva Smith Bohannon

 

Reva Smith Bohannon, 69, of Pleasureville, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville.  She was the daughter of the late Voyd Smith, Sr. and Edna Lewis Smith.  She was a homemaker, farmer and a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years: Billy H. Bohannon, Pleasureville; one son: Tim Bohannon (Cheryl), Pleasureville; one daughter: Tina Bohannon Travis (Mark), Pleasureville; one brother: David Smith, Corbin; one sister: Martha Allen, Cleveland, TN; father and mother-in-law: Harold and Virginia Bohannon, Pleasureville; sisters-in-law: Jean Ware, Lexington and Judy Bohannon, Bagdad; four grandchildren: Clay Bohannon, Christopher Bohannon (Amy), Jessica Roberts (Tim) and Rachel Travis; one great-granddaughter: Areiana Lee Bohannon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by three brothers: Roy Smith, Voyd Smith, Jr., and Archie Ware, Jr.; sister: Fannie Jane Smith and adopted parents: Archie Ware, Sr. and Viola Ware.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 13th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Marshall Phillips officiated.  Interment was in the Bohannon Family Cemetery in Elmburg.

Ruth Bohannon

 

Ruth Bohannon, 72, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at her residence.  She was born in Bagdad, the daughter of the late Chester Adler, Sr. and Blanche Baxter Adler.  Mrs. Bohannon was a homemaker and a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by one son: James Bohannon (Gina), Port Royal; two daughters: Elaine Taylor (Don), Cropper and Donna King (Bruce), Horse Cave; four brothers: Chester Adler, Jr. (Virginia), Pleasureville, Froman Adler (Tara), Shelbyville, Hubert Ray Adler, Kansas City, MO, and Ronald Dean Adler, Pleasureville; one sister: Viola Coleman, Middletown; seven grandchildren: Robert Bohannon (Amanda), Michael Bohannon (Jessica), Cassandra Couey, Lydia Couey, Alexander Taylor, Khristian Chilton and Nicholas King; two great-grandchildren: Kendric Bohannon and Chloe Bohannon; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Bohannon.

 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. David Crowther, Pastor of the Elmburg Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville, Cemetery.

Roy Bowles

 

Roy L. Bowles, 72, of Pleasureville, died Monday, July 31, 1995 at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville, after a short illness.  He was a native of Finchville, a retired farmer and a technician for KABA (Kentucky Artificial Breeders Association), a former manager of Southern States Coops in Harrodsburg and Greenville, TN, a charter member of the Cropper Ruritan Club, a Veteran of WWII and a member of the Eminence Christian Church.

 

He is survived by his wife: Betty Bowles, Pleasureville; two daughters: Cathy Taylor, Cropper and Jane Lee Salisbury, Pleasureville; one brother: Buddy Bowles, Shelbyville; two sisters: Gladys Martin, Shelbyville and Virginia Jennings, Nicholasville; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

 

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 3rd, at the Eminence Christian Church.  Rev. Tom Page officiated.  Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.  LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home, Frankfort, was in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Boyer

 

Evelyn K. Boyer, 95, of Campbellsburg, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange.  She was the daughter of the late William T. and Martha M. Martin, attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, graduated from the University of Kentucky and was a teacher in the Henry County Schools.  She was also a member of the Sulphur Baptist Church and past president of the Campbellsburg Women’s Club.

 

She is survived by two cousins and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Boyer and one sister, Mary Francis Samuell.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13th at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg.  Rev. Carl Rucker officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Sue Gail brown Braden, 74, of LaGrange, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.  Daughter of the late William Arthur and Rose Lee Young Brown, she was a homemaker and a member of the LaGrange Christian Church.

 

She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Lynn Beaver and husband, Vernon, Gainesville, GA, Harriett Marie Beatty and husband, Corey, LaGrange, and Sherry Gail Deeken and husband, Dennis, Middletown; two sons: Robert Braden, Jr. and wife, Shirley, Pittsfield, IL and Mark Gregory Braden and wife, Kathy, Pleasureville; four sisters: Joyce Snow, Sanders, Margaret beach, Worthville, Linda Hemingway, Madison, IN and Hazel Woods, Pleasureville; three brothers: Charles C. brown, Bethlehem, Michael Brown and Tony Brown, both of Henry County; twenty grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23rd at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Pastor Don Naftz, LaGrange Christian Church, officiated assisted by Rev. Corey Beatty.  Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange.

Mary Breeden

 

Mary Alice Breeden, 91, of Liberty, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Casey County Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Lee Lewellybn and Katie Gulley, a homemaker and a member of the Carrollton Pentecostal Church.

 

She is survived by her son: Curtis Breeden and wife, Shirley, Liberty; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband: Chester Breeden, daughter: Dorothy Marie Abbott; two infant sons; three sisters: Zelphia Parke, Martha Pirkins and Mayne D. Lewellyn; one brother: Lee Lewellyn, Jr. and one great-grandson.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29th at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty.  Bro. Curtis Breeden officiated.  Interment was in the Odd Fellows Hall Cemetery in Carrollton.

Charles Brent

 

Charles David Brent, 64, of Campbellsburg, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Louisville.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran and son of the late Charles Oscar Brent.

 

He is survived by his mother: Helen W. Eckert; two sons: Leonard David Brent, Campbellsburg and Gregory William Brent, Carrollton; one daughter: Pamela Sue Mills, Mitchell, IN; one sister: Sue Coombs, LaGrange and eleven grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22nd at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg.  Rev. Drew Oakley officiated.  Interment was in the Campbellsburg Masonic Cemetery.

Donetta Brent

 

Donetta Russell Brent, 43, died at her residence in Eminence on Friday, January 25, 1974 at 4:00 p.m.

 

She is survived by her husband: William Ray Brent, Eminence; and three sons: Dennis, Larry and Terry Brent, all of Eminence.  Other survivors include one brother: Elisha Russell of Loneland, OH and one granddaughter.

 

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 28th at the Barnett Funeral Home in Campbellsburg.  Rev. Robert James Smith, Pastor of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Campbellsburg Cemetery.

Eugene Brent

 

Eugene Carroll Brent, 85, of Columbia, GA, formerly of Carroll County, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Heartland Hospice, Augusta, GA.  He was the son of the late William Carey and Roxie Pyles Brent, a retired supervisor for the Wirz/Teledyne Factory in Carrollton and a farmer.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Evans, GA and served in the U.S. Navy.

 

He is survived by his wife: Nancy Elizabeth McManis Brent, Columbia, GA; three daughters: Sandra Brent Lentz, Martinez, GA, Ilene Brent, Landsdale, PA and Carol Beth Brent Wittschen, Washington, GA; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by three sisters: Erby Brent Bryant, Willena Brent Lawrence and Evelyn Brent; three Brothers: Rocky, William and Charles Brent.

 

Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7th at the Campbellsburg Masonic Cemetery.  Rev. Larry Smith and Rev. Joe Kindoll officiated.
