Dorothy Casey

 

Dorothy Marie Casey, 58, of Eminence, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville.  She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Fay Birch Brewer.

 

She is survived by one son: Abe Neal, Lawrenceburg and one daughter: Leslie Busby, Lexington.

 

Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, March 10th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Nick Coleman officiated.  Cremation followed the funeral service.

Cecil Clark

 

Cecil Clark, 82, of Eminence, died Monday, May 21, 2012.  He was the son of the late Charles and Mamie Downey Clark.

 

He is survived by one daughter: Wanda Sue Perkins, Worthville; and four sons: Cecil Wayne Clark, Port Royal, Danny Clark and Charles David Clark, both of Eminence and Tony Clark, Pleasureville.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Edenah Penn Clark.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Bro. Larry Montgomery, associate pastor of the Henry Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was

in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Alma Clements

 

Alma E. Casey Clements, 102, of Pleasureville, died Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Homestead Nursing Center in New Castle.  Daughter of the late James and Nettie Scriber Caasey, she became a member of the Point Pleasant Christian Church in 1930.

 

She is survived by two daughters: Kathleen Roberts, Frankford and Dorislynn Leach, Lexington;  one stepdaughter: Evelyn Garrett (Gene), New Castle; two sons: Dale Roberts (Betty) and Randall Roberts (Annelies), all of Pleasureville; one stepson: Dr. Freddie T. Clements (Diana, Owenton; two sisters: Juanita Jeffries and Glenna Singleton, both of Eminence; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.  She was preceded in death by her first husband: Dave Roberts and her second husband: Sid Clements.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Bro. Larry Childress, Pastor of the Point Pleasant Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Anna Clements

 

Anna L. Clements, 87, of Louisville, died Saturday, August 28, 2004 in LaGrange.  She was a homemaker, a worker at Ormsby Village, a member of Frisky Folks, a Baptist and the daughter of the late Roy Wilhoyte and Jewell Netherton.

 

She is survived by  two daughters: Linda (Don) Heustis, LaGrange and Charlotte (Sol) Gaskins, Centerfield; one son: James Clements, Pleasureville; one sister: Mary Elizabeth Gill, Louisville; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, at the Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange.  Rev. Jim Lewis, retiree from the Westport Road Baptist Church, officiated.  Burial was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

Francis Clubb

 

On June 2, 1921, death came and took from us Frances Clubb, age 19.  He had been a sufferer for about four weeks with typhoid fever, bearing his suffering with patience.  All was done that could be done to save his life, but God knew best and took him away.

 

He united with the Christian Church at the age of 14 years.  He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and little son, Charles Francis; also his dear mother; four brothers: Marchel, Bart, Gilbert and Newton; and one sister: Mrs. Joe Roberts. 

 

Funeral services were held by Rev. Sewell at Cemetery Hill where a large number of relatives and friends gathered to show their last respect.  The body was laid to rest in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Betty Cook

 

Bessie Wentworth Cook, 79, of Bagdad, died Saturday, January 29, 2012, at Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle.  She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Dorothy Campbell Wentworth.

 

She is survived by two sons: Gary Cook, Eminence and Steve Cook, Bagdad; and one daughter: Janet Lewis, Bagdad.

 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2nd, at Bagdad Cemetery.  Rev. Darren Wolford officiated.  Interment was in the Bagdad Cemetery.

Elizabeth Cooper

 

Elizabeth Hall Cooper, 80, of New Albany, IN, died January 27, 2012, at Autumn Woods.  She was the daughter of the late R. C. and Hallie Harrell Hall.

 

She is survived by her husband: Roy Cooper, New Albany, IN.

 

A graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 30th, at Sligo Church Cemetery.  Rev. Earl Wayne Perry officiated.  Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, was in charge of arrangements.

Deana Couch

 

Deana L. Couch, 49, of Pleasureville, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville following an illness.  She was the daughter of the late Anna Louise McDonald Dixon and Noah Lee Dixon, Jr.

 

She is survived by her husband: Carl R. Couch, Pleasureville; one son: Joshua Clayton Couch, Sr., Pleasureville; two daughters: Melissa Couch Wayne, Shelbyville and Shawna Couch-Montes, Taylorsville.

 

Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 18th, at Webb Funeral Home.  Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. delivered the eulogy.  Cremation was chosen.  Burial of cremated remains was at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 21st at Big Spring Cemetery in nelson County.

Katherine Crawford

 

Mary Katherine Crawford, 78, of LaGrange, died Monday, September 27, 2004 in LaGrange.  She was a retired waitress and the daughter of the late Eli Brown, Sr. and Inez Morganson Brown.

 

She is survived by one son: Maurice Stevens, New Salisbury, IN; three sisters: Ada Davis, Alabama, Alma Mae Lynch, Richmond and Frances Richardson, LaGrange; one brother: Eli Brown, Jr. Campbellsburg; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 29th at the Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange.  Pastor Ed Schweitzer of the South Oldham Christian Church officiated.

Burial was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

Norman Carl Crawford, 82, of Charlestown, IN, died Friday, February 3, 2012.

 

He is survived by his son: Scott Crawford.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7th, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home.  Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery.

Paige Davis

 

Paige Leigh Davis, 37, of Milton, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Kings Daughters Hospital, Madison.  She was a member of the Milton Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by her parents: Ferrill and Phyllis Perkins Davis; two brothers: Ray and Rob Davis, both of Milton; her grandmother: Helen Davis, Milton; her grandfather: Cecil Perkins, Milton; four nieces and one nephew.

 

Funeral services were held Friday, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Milton Baptist Church.  Interment was in the Moffett Cemetery. The Wood-Oakley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Derossett

 

Anna Florence Derossett, 72, of Lockport, died Monday, January 30, 2012, at the Carroll County memorial Hospital in Carrollton.  She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Helen Payton Wentworth.

 

She is survived by her husband: Donnie Moore, Louisville; on son: Adler Derossett, Port Royal; and one daughter: Joyce Booth, Lockport.

 

Cremation was chosen and no services are planned at this time.  Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville, was in charge of arrangements.

Angie Druin

 

Angie Clark Druin, 90, of Shelbyville, died Friday, February 17. 2012, at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville.  She was the daughter of the late Charlie Crewz and Elizabeth Virginia HortonClark.

 

She is survived by two sons: Raymond Lee Druin and Homer Eugene Druin, both of Shelbyville.

 

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 20th, at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Rev. Jesse Baxter officiated..  Interment was in the Simpsonville Cemetery.

Viola Ellis

 

Viola Moore Ellis, 95, of Shelbyville, formerly of Louisville, died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the Masonic Home, Shelbyville.  She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late Joe B. and Susie Cox Moore and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Shelbyville.

 

She is survived by two daughters: Denzell (Everett) Middleton, Shelbyville, and JoAnn (Lloyd) Crady, Louisville; two sons: Devon Ellis, Louisville and John Ray Ellis, Eminence; two sisters: Susie Bell (William) Porter, Louisville and Betty Ann Hatchell, Hillview; one brother: Warren Carroll Moore, Hillview; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William �J. Bird� Ellis, one sister and six brothers.

 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2nd at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Don Waterfill, Pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church, Shelbyville, officiated, assisted by Rev. Jesse Baxter, Chaplain of the Masonic Home, Shelbyville.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

June Garrett

 

June Wilson Garrett, 86, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, June 5, 2004 at her residence.  She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Philpot Wilson, a homemaker and a member of the Shelby Christian Church.

 

She is survived by one daughter: Helen Garrett Durden, Shelbyville; three grandchildren; one step grandchild; six step great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband: George Kenneth Garrett.

 

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 7th, at Grove Hill Cemetery.  Dr. Lowell Ogden officiated.  Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville, was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Goins, Sr.

 

Joseph A. Goins, Sr., 68, of Frankfort, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at his residence after a long illness. He was retired from IBM, worked for KY State Department of Parks, a member of the Ashland Avenue Baptist Church, and served in the U. S. Army.

 

He is survived by his wife: Wynema Pulliam Goins, Frankfort; his mother: Myrtle Kyle Goins, Frankfort; three sons: Joseph A. Goins, Jr., Newport, James Brent Goins, and Troy Russell Goins, both of Frankfort; one daughter: Rita Glena Goins, Frankfort; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father Clayton Goins and two brothers.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 27th at 10:30 a.m. at Harrod Bros. Memorial Chapel, Frankfort.  Dr. Steve Pattison officiated.  Burial was in the Bagdad Cemetery.
