Eddie M. Foree

 

Mr. Eddie M. Foree, 75, of New Castle, died suddenly Monday, January 21, 1985.  He was a retired farmer nd a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, New Castle.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Mattie Wilson Foree, New Castle; one brother: Jessie Foree, New Castle and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 24th from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Rev. Merdith Trabue, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Castle.

Elizabeth Foree

 

Mrs. Elizabeth F. Foree, 55 of New Castle, died Wednesday, October 21, 1981 at the Baptist East Hospital, Louisville.  She was a member of the Greater Bethel Temple Church, Louisville.

 

She is survived by her husband: Jesse Foree, Sr., New Castle; seven sons: Shelby Clarence Shelby, LaGrange, Jesse G. Foree, Jr., New Castle, Marshall E. Foree, William P. Foree, Jackie Foree and Donald Foree, all of Louisville, and David Foree, Cleveland, Ohio; one daughter: Mrs. Clifton (Lula) Wagner, Louisville; three sisters: Mrs. William (Dorothy) Lee, Louisville, Mrs. Jessie Fields, New Castle and Miss Mary Elizabeth Fields, New Castle; four brothers: Mervin Fields, Pleasureville, James Fields, Campbellsburg, Carroll Fields, Louisville and Joe Thomas Fields, Frankfort; 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 23rd from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Elder William P. Foree, pastor of the Greater Bethel Temple Church in Louisville, officiated, assisted by Elder Jesse G. Foree, Jr., pastor of the Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church in New Castle.  Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Castle.

Elizabeth Jane Foree

 

Elizabeth Jane Foree, 94, of the Trimble Nursing Center, Bedford, died Tuesday, August 21, 1984.  She was formerly of Sligo and a member of the Sulphur Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

 

She is survived by four sons: John Foree, Smithfield, Kenneth Foree and Joseph Lynn Foree, both of Bedford and Bill Foree, Louisville; four daughters: Mrs. Lenora Barnett, Campbellsburg, Mrs. Frances Newman and Mrs. Warrena Reid, both of Louisville and Mrs. Anita Herron, Bradfordsville; one brother: Ellis Coleman, Sulphur; four sisters: Mrs. Mary Willie Garriott, Salvisa, Mrs. Nora Shy, Frankfort, Mrs. Minnie Ruth Hancock, Sulphur and Mrs. Mildred Garriott, Norfolk, Virginia; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 23rd at the Barnett-Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Nick Coleman, pastor of the Children of the King Church, Bedford, officiated, assisted by Raymond Snider, pastor of the Sulphur Methodist Church.  Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Elmer Foree

 

Elmer L. Foree, 83, former mayor of Eminence, died Monday at Humana Hospital Audubon, Louisville.  Foree, a native of Turners Station, served as mayor of Eminence from 1956-1962 and as a city councilman from 1972-1975.  He was a 32nd degree Mason, A Shriner and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

 

Foree was the former owner of Foree Motors and the John Deere Implement Company in Eminence.  In addition to his governmental activities, Foree, was a retired farmer, Past President of the Eminence Rotary Club and several terms as president of the Henry County Fair Board.

 

To honor his efforts in the community, Foree was presented the Outstanding Citizen of Eminence Award in 1962.  He served 16 years as the president of the Eminence Chamber of Commerce from 1953-1969 and he was a member and deacon of the Eminence Christian Church.

 

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Edith M. Harper, Eminence; a stepson: Rev. Robert S. Owens, Jr. of Honolulu; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jesse Foree

 

Elder Jesse G. Foree, 60, of New Castle, died here Friday, August 8 1986, after an illness.  He was pastor of the Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church, New Castle for eight years, and a Navy Veteran of WWII.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Dorothy Thomas Foree, New Castle; four daughters: Mrs. Barbara Ann Spencer and Mrs. Leon (Deloris) Gray, both of Louisville, Mrs. Linda Kay Foree and Miss Melita Jessica Foree, both of New Castle, three sons: Charles H. Foree and Leon Foree, both of Louisville, and Eric L. Foree, U.S. Army, Arizona; his father: Mr. Jesse L. Foree, New Castle, one sister: Mrs. Clifton (Lula) Wagner, Louisville; five brothers: Marshall E. Foree, Elder William P. Foree and Donald Foree, all of Louisville, David Foree, Cleveland, Ohio, and Jack Foree, Louisville; and eighteen grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 12 at the Greater Bethel Temple Apostolic Church, Louisville.  Elder William P. Foree, pastor of the Greater Bethel Temple Apostolic Church, Louisville, officiated.  Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Castle.  Prewitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joe Foree, Jr.

 

Joe Foree, Jr., age 82, of Sulphur died Saturday, January 22, 2000 at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville.  He was the son of the late Joe and Maggie Elston Foree, a farmer, WWII Army Veteran, operated the Sulphur Grocery for ove 30 years, a member and deacon of the Sulphur Christian Church and a sexton of the Sulphur Cemetery for over 22 years.

 

He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Chet (Cathy) Lawrence, Campbellsburg and Mrs. Robert (Paula) Holden, Sulphur and three grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Louden Foree and one son, Ricky Foree.

 

Funeral services were held at 12 noon Monday, January 24, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. O. B. Smith, pastor of the Sulphur Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Joseph Foree

 

Mr. Joseph H. “Joe” Foree, age 81, of Shelbyville died Sunday, August 1, 1993 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville, after an illness.  He was a native of Henry County, a retired General Electric worker in Louisville, a member of Bethel AME Church and a volunteer lunchroom supervisor at West Middle School, Shelbyville.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Marietta J. Foree, Shelbyville; one son: James M. Foree, Denver, Colorado; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be today (Wednesday, August 4) at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church.  Rev. William H. Summers III will officiate.  Burial will be in the Pleasureville Cemetery.  Morton-Beckley was in charge of arrangements.

Marion Foree

 

Mr. Marion Paul Foree, age 64, of Moundville, Alabama, died Saturday, September 3, 1988 at the West Alabama General Hospital, Northport, Alabama, following an illness.  He was formerly of Sulphur, an Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Masonic Simpson Lodge #189 in New Castle, a salesman and a member of the Sulphur Christian Church.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Dorothy Hand Foree, Moundville, Alabama; one daughter: Mrs. Linda Jo Foree, Stewart, Alabama; three sons: Roland (Ron) Foree, Woodstock, Georgia, Jon R. Foree, and Jason M. Foree, both of Moundville, Alabama; one brother, Joe Foree, Jr., Sulphur and five grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 1988 at the Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle.  Rev. Nick Coleman, pastor of the Children of the King Church, Bedford, officiated.  Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Melvin Foree

 

Melvin Chilton Foree, 71, died November 6, 1984 at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital.  He was born at Turners Station and moved to Arizona 32 years ago from new Albany, Indian.  He had been a maintenance superintendent for Diamond’s Department Stores for 25 years.

 

He is survived by four daughters: Ruth Walls, Linda Denson, Phyllis Linthicum and Janis Brown; two sons: Ralph Foree and Melvin H. Foree; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. November 10 at the mortuary.

Robert Foree

 

Robert T. Foree, Jr., 74 of Louisville died Tuesday, May 29, 1979 at the Suburban Hospital, Louisville.  He was a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, worked at GE Supply where he was a member of the Toppers Club, was retired from Hoblitzell Real Estate Company and was a graduate of Washington and Lee University.  He was the son of the late Edith Smith Foree and Robert T. Foree, Sr.

 

He is survived by his wife: Jeanne Davis Foree, Louisville; one brother: William N. Foree, Danville; two sisters: Mrs. Augusta Vance Foree, Eminence and Mrs. Lula Robbins, Jr., Thomasville, North Carolina.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 1 at the New Castle United Methodist Church.  Rev. Phillip Moore, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. Hankins Parker.  Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Willie Sam Foree

 

Willie Sam Foree, 78, of New Castle, died Sunday, January 22, 1984 at the Baptist East hospital, Louisville.  He was a retired farmer, a maintenance man at the New Castle Coin Laundry, a member of the New Castle Washington Lodge No. 1513 and a member of the New Castle Main Street Baptist Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beulah Henderson Foree, New Castle; one foster son: Fellis McGuire, Eminence; two brothers: Jessie Foree and Eddie Foree, both of New Castle and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 25 from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Rev. Merdith Trabue, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Castle.

L. G. Forquer

 

L.G. “Floppy” Forquer, a former University of Kentucky football star and a former official in the State Department of Economic Security, died of cancer last week at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.  Forquer, of Bourbon County, was 76.

 

He played football for UK for three years, beginning in 1928.  Forquer, who played left guard, was captain of the UK team in 1930 and also made the All-Southern football team.  He was employed by the state Department of Economic Security in the late 1930s and early 1940s.  In 1956, after having served in WWII and having worked for General Shoe Company in Frankfort for a time, he was appointed an associate commissioner of the Department of Economic Security.

 

Forquer was a Henry County native and served as a captain in the Army during the war (WWII).  He also had been a farmer.

 

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Paris and the Paris Rotary Club.

 

Surviving are a brother; Billy Forquer, of Richmond, and two sisters: Clara Powell and Lillian Stewart, both of New Castle.

 

Services were at 2 p.m. November 28 at the Whaley Funeral Home in Cynthiana.

Olie Forquer

 

Olie Forquer, 60, colored, died at his home in Pleasureville at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

 

Funeral services were conducted at the Colored Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday by Rev. J. W. Mathews of Eminence.  Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

 

He is survived by his wife: Julie Forquer; one daughter: Lizzie Beach; one step-daughter: Lottie Waller and one sister: Tissia O’Bannon.

 

Olie had worked for a number of people in the community, especially for the Pleasureville Livery Stables in the “horse and buggy days.”

 


Mrs. J. Clifton Fort

 

Mrs. J. Clifton Fort, 77, died Tuesday, May 7, 1985 at the Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  She was the former Mary Grigsby, a native of Knott County, a former resident of Eminence, a retired teacher for Southside Elementary School in Shelbyville, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of the Henry County Retired Teachers Association.

 

She is survived by one son: Ralph G. Fort; one brother: Leslie Grigsby, Cincinnati, Ohio and two grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at the Barrett Funeral Home, Louisville.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Phyllis Fortner

 

Phyllis J. Stivers Fortner, age 60, of Waddy, died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Jewish Hospital Louisville after a long illness.  She was a native of Jefferson County, the daughter of the late John and Florence Craig Stivers, a former employee of the Brunswick Corporation and attended Beechridge Baptist Church, Shelby County.

 

She is survived by her husband: Julius Clayton Fortner, Waddy; a daughter: Terri Kays, Shelbyville; five sons: Billy Reardon, Lockport, Franklin Reardon, Shelbyville, David Fortner, LaGrange, Kenneth Fortner, Eminence and Michael Fortner, Waddy; two brothers: Neville Curtis Stivers, Jacksonville and William Darrell Stivers, Eminence; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Wayne Fortner.

 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Gary Polston, pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated.

Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

 Millie C. Frankel

 

Mrs. Millie C. Frankel, 98, Louisville’s oldest Jewish person and native Louisvillian, died Wednesday night, February 10, at her home at 1910 South Third Street.

 

She was the widow of Gustave “Gus” Frankel, who a number of years ago, operated a dry goods store in New Castle.  While in New Castle, they made their home at the “Gray House” operated by the late Judge and Mrs. Richard P. Samuell.

 

She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Edith Daniel, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Mrs. Daisy Klein, Louisville; four sons: Nathan C. Frankel, Harry Frankel and Raymond Frankel, all of Louisville, and Gilbert Frankel, Washington, D. C.;  a sister: Mrs. Heloise Pfeiffer, Little Rock, Arkansas; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meyer and Son Funeral Home, Louisville.  The body was cremated.

Eunice Frazier

 

Miss Eunice Frazier, 76 of Defoe, died Friday, April 17th at the King’s Daughters Hospital, Frankfort.

 

She is survived by one brother, R. E. Frazier, Defoe.

 

Funeral services were held 1t 11a.m.Monday, April 20th at the Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. George Naylor, pastor of Union Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Forrest Frazier, Sr.

 

Forrest Edwin Frazier, Sr., 61 of Lexington, died Tuesday, March 16th at the Veterans Hospital, Lexington, after a long illness.

 

He is survived by two sons: Forrest E, Frazier, Jr., Lexington and Dr. Joseph William Frazier, Ashland; one daughter, Mrs. William (Becky) Hall, Lexington; five grandchildren; five brothers: Russell Frazier, Eminence, Clarence “Buck” Frazier, Jr., Shelbyville, Ray W. Frazier, Austin, Texas, Harold E. Frazier, Kennesaw, Georgia and Wallace A. Frazier, Paris, KY; and his aunt and uncle, Arvel and Luna Frazier, Eminence.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at the Ricketts Funeral Home, Eminence.  Rev. Harry Fegan, pastor of the Eminence Methodist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Henry Frazier

 

Henry “Buddy” Frazier, age 81, of New Castle, died Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  He was a farmer, and the son of the late Leonard Edward and Anna Mae Clark Frazier.

 

He is survived by his wife: Ruth Frazier, New Castle; three daughters: Mrs. Dale (Charlene) Bays, New Castle, Mrs. Jimmy (Barbara) Holcomb, Bedford; Mrs. Jesus (Mamie) Garcia, LaGrange; one son: Herbert Frazier, LaGrange; two sisters: Mary Louise Martin, and Mrs. Alfred (Mae) Jackson, both of Bedford; three brothers: Owen Frazier, Campbellsburg, mart Frazier, |Tampa, Florida and Allen Frazier, Bedford; two step-daughters: Mrs. J. C. (Marie) Suter, Ruth Ann Downey, Pendleton; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Frazier, three sisters and a brother.  His stepson, Howard “Pee Wee” Raisor, died one day later.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 10 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Garry Polston, New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Leonard Frazier

 

Leonard Franklin Frazier, 69 of New Castle, died Tuesday, April 5 at the Veterans Hospital, Louisville, after an illness.  He was an Air Force Veteran of WWII and a native of Henry County.

 

He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Rosa Jane Brooks, New Castle, Mrs. Danny (Linda) Fackler, Route 5, Shepherdsville and Melissa Ann Frazier, New Castle; five sons: Leonard Frazier, Jr., Route 5, Shepherdsville, Jerry Lee Frazier, Brooks, William Franklin Frazier, Shepherdsville, Johnny Cash Frazier and Floyd Leonard Frazier, both of New Castle; three sisters: Mrs. Mathie Tucker, Mrs. Carrie Sevier and Mrs. Effie Tharp, all of Louisville; one brother: Floyd Frazier, Louisville and fourteen grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 7th from Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle.  Rev. Robert Stoess, pastor of the Church of the Nazerene in Shepherdsville, officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Luna Frazier

 

Mrs. Luna R. Frazier, 79 of Eminence, died Monday, July 25th at the Kings Daughters Hospital, Shelbyville.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Eminence.

 

She is survived by her husband: A. B. Frazier, Eminence; two brothers: L. A. Greene, Indianapolis and John o. Greene, St. Matthews and a score of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28th at the Ricketts Funeral Home, Eminence.  Rev. Harold Dorsey, officiated, assisted by Rev. Paul Pepoon.  Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Frazier, 60, of New Castle, died Tuesday, July 2nd at the Humana Hospital University, Louisville.

 

She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. James (Martha) Fink, Pleasureville, Mrs. Jerry (Mable) Louden, New Castle, Mrs. Rosa Jane Brooks, New Castle and Mrs. Danny (Linda0 Fackler, Shepherdsville; four sons: Leonard Frazier, Jr., Shepherdsville, Jerry Lee Frazier, Brooks, William Frazier, New Castle, and Johnny Frazier, Jeffersontown; two sisters: Mrs. Melvina Sutliff, Venice, Florida and Mrs. Thelma Peyton, New Castle; three brothers: George Payton, Lockport, Raymond Payton, Campbellsburg and Jack Payton, New Castle and twenty grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5th from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Dr. Clayton Klingenfus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Owen Frazier

 

Owen Carrol Frazier, Sr., age 73 of Campbellsburg died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Baptist Hospital Northeast.  He was retired from the City of New Castle and the son of the late Edward A. Frazier.

 

He is survived by his wife: Valeri Sue Frazier, Campbellsburg, three daughters: Mary Combs, Pendleton, Frances Hall, Louisville and Donna Clarkston, Manchester; four sons: Herbert Frazier, Tampa, Florida, Robert Frazier, Carrollton, Josh Frazier and Owen Frazier, Jr., both of Campbellsburg; two sisters: Louise Martin, Carrollton and Mildred Jackson, Bedford; two brothers: Allen Frazier, Bedford and Mark Frazier, Eminence and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 30 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Bert Montgomery, pastor of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Campbellsburg Masonic Cemetery.

Walter Frazier

 

Walter Mar Frazier, 71 of New Castle died suddenly Friday, May 29, 1981 at his residence.  He was a native of Nelson County, a retired employee at the Lockport Quarry, a member of the Henry Christian Church and a  U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.

 

He is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Emma Jean Sanders, Elizabethtown, Mrs. William (Stella) Long, Mrs. John (Myrtle) Lee and Mrs. Charlie (Barbara Sue) Long, all of New Castle and Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Horine, Warsaw; two sons: Wilber Frazier, LaGrange and James Frazier, New Castle; three sisters: Mrs. Mathie Tucker, Mrs. Carrie Sevier and Mrs. Effie Tharp, all of Louisville; two brothers: Leonard Frazier, Shepherdsville and William Floyd Frazier, Louisville; fourteen grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31 st from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Dr. Clayton Klingenfus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Robert Freeman

 

Robert Dee “Robbie” Freeman, age 47, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at the Clark Memorial Hospital.  He was emplyed by Stemler Plumbing. He was the son of the late Owen Woodrow Freeman.

 

He is survived by his wife: Peggy Freeman; a son, Jonathan Andrew Freeman, both of Jeffersonville; his mother, Shirley Freeman, Smithfield; one sister: Patsy Scholtz, Colorado Springs; two brothers: Chester “Buddy” Freeman, Sacremento and William Freeman, Otisco and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 22 at Lake Jericho Campground.

George Fremd, Sr.

 

George Fremd, Sr., 76, died Thursday afternoon at his home in Eminence.  He was a former president of the Farmers and Growers Bank of Eminence and was a member of the Fremd Grocery Company for many years.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Mary Miller Fremd; three sisters: Mrs. Lydia, Mattye and Dora Fremd, of Eminence; one brother: H. L. Fremd, Eminence; one son: George Fremd, Jr. and a one grandchild.

 

Funeral services were conducted at 11a.m. Saturday at the residence.  Rev. Hal Marchman, pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Lydia K. Fremd

 

Miss Lydia K. Fremd, 98, of Eminence, died Tuesday, September 11, 1984 at her residence.  She graduated from the first Eminence High School class; graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky, where she earned her B.S. in a925 and her M.S. in 1928 in English; she was the oldest U. K. Alumnus; a U.K. Fellow; Dean, Lees Junior College; taught in West Virginia Chapmanville High School and in Henry County till her retirement; Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and a member of the Eminence Christian Church for 90 years.

 

She is survived by one great-nephew, George O. Fremd, III, Route 1, Eminence.

 

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 13th at the Eminence Cemetery.  Rev. John Brand, pastor of the Eminence Christian Church, officiated.  Prewitts Funeral Home, New Castle was in charge of arrangements.

Virginia Fremd

 

Mrs. Virginia T. Fremd, age 75 of Eminence, died Wednesday, February 7, 1990 at her residence.  She was a native of Huntington, West Virginia, a Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the Eminence Christian Church.

 

She is survived by one son: Mr. George Fremd, III, Eminence; one sister: Mrs. Joan Bassford, Beaufort, South Carolina; her mother: Mrs. Jeanette Turley, Huntington, West Virginia; one grandson: George Fremd, IV, Eminence; one granddaughter, Virginia Lynn Fremd, Lexington and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 9 at the Prewitt Funeral Home, Eminence.  Rev. Tom Page, pastor of the Eminence Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Austin Frost

 

Mr. Austin C. (Jack) Frost, Sr., 81, of Navasota, Texas, died Wednesday, November 7th at the Grimes County Memorial Hospital in Navasota, after a long illness.  He was formerly of Henry County, a native of Gest and a retired charter member of the International Union Operating Engineer Local 450, Houston, Texas.

 

He is survived by two sons: Austin C. Frost, Jr., Houston and Forshey Goilbart, Beaumont, Texas; three brothers: Raymond Frost, New Castle, Rev. J. Thomas Frost, North Webster, Indiana and Howard B. Frost, Louisville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 10th from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Rev. Barclay Brown, pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Herman Frost

 

Herman Frost, 81 of New Castle, died Saturday, June 7th at the Northfield Nursing Home, Lousiville.  He was a retired lockmaster and a member of the Gest Methodist Church.

 

He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Carl (Mae) Tincher, Richmond, Indiana and Mrs. A. W. (Jo) Downey, Monterey; seven sons: Elliot M. Frost, Long Beach, California, Andrew S. Frost, Williamsburg, KY, Luke C. Frost, Carrollton, Herman Frost, Jr., Frankfort, Indiana, George R. Frost, Corinth, KY, Fred N. Frost, New Albany and Howard D. Frost, Lockport; two sisters: Mrs. John (Madolyn) Bondurant, Anderson, Indiana and Mrs. Josephine Jantze, Louisville; four brothers: Raymond Frost, New Castle, Austin C. Frost, Louisville, Rev. J. Thomas Frost, North Webster, Indiana and Howard B. Frost, Louisville; eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10th from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Dr. Clayton Klingenfus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Ron Weaver, pastor of Antioch Church of Christ, Dry Ridge.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Willena Frost

 

Mrs. Willena Clements Frost, 85, of New Castle, died Thursday, April 25 at her residence.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church.

 

She is survived by her husband: Mr. Raymond D. Frost, New Castle; one daughter: Mrs. William (Mary Evelyn) Brownlee, Livermore, California; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funereal services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27 from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Rev. Barclay Brown, pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. J. Thomas Frost of North Webster, Indiana.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.
