Alma K. Jones

 

Alma K. Jones, passed away November 11, 2005, at the Episcopal Church Home.  A native of Bethlehem, she was retired after 30 years of service from the Internal Revenue Service.  Miss Jones was a member of the Cresent Hill United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Edward R. Jones, Sr.

 

She is survived by her step-daughter: Mary Lou Farra; seven grandchildren; two nieces: Gayle Di Cesare and Lynn Richardson; a cousin: Forest and Mary Catherine Rogers and many other cousins.

 

The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday November 16, 2005, at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, with burial at the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Blanche Jones

 

Blanche Tingle Jones, age 89, of Eminence, died Monday, August 20, 2001 at Tri-County Baptist Hospital, LaGrange.  She was the daughter of Charlie and Grace Jones Tingle, a retired employee of Central State Hospital for 21 years, a member of Rebecca Lodge #16, Eminence and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by two daughters: Betty Jean Hamilton, New Castle and Carolyn Baker, Eminence; two sisters: Mrs. Dave (Lacie Lee) New, Owenton and Pauline Harp, Eminence; one brother: Orvel Tingle, Crestwood; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband: Ramey Jones.

 

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 23rd, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Rev. Gary Polston, pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, assisted.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Bert Jones

 

Bert Jones, formerly of Pendleton where he worked on the R. L. Duncan farm, died Monday at his home near LaGrange after a lingering illness. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie Jones, and a step-granddaughter who has made her home with them since infancy.

 

Funeral services were conducted from Ricketts-Radcliffe Funeral Home in LaGrange at 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Burial was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

Douglas Jones

 

Douglas A. Jones, 68 of Eminence, died suddenly Sunday, September 25, 1983 at his residence.  He was formerly of Lawtery, Florida and a Navy Veteran of WWII with 20 years of service.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Iren Jones, Starke, Florida; two daughters: Mrs. Brenda Smith and Mrs. Kathy Thompson, both of Lawtery, Florida; one son: Douglas Andrew Hall II, Lawtery; and one sister: Mrs. Ira (Laura) Hall, Eminence.

 

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 29th in Starke, Florida.  Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle was in charge of arrangements here.

Evelyn Jones

 

Evelyn Tingle Jones, age 91, of Frankfort died Monday, August 5, 2002 at Beverly Health and Rehab Center after a long illness.  She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late Lebo and Mary Tharpe Tingle, a retired employee of the National Distillery and a member of the Choateville Christian Church.

 

She is survived by two sons: Donald R. Jones, Frankfort and William L. Jones, Paducah; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

 

Services were held Wednesday, August 7 at 2:30 p.m. at the Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel.  Rev. Truman McClain officiated.  Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford County.

George Jones, Jr.

 

George W. Jones, Jr., 52 of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, May 11, 1983 at the Norton-Children’s Hospital, Louisville.  He was a native of Henry County, a former milk truck driver for LaFollett & Sons Trucking Company and a member of the Second Baptist Church, Campbellsburg.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Ida Jones, Shelbyville; two sons: George A. Jones and Timothy Jones, both of Shelbyville; three daughters: Miss Beverly Jones, Miss Darlene Jones and Miss Tammie Jones, all of Shelbyville; one grandchild; his mother: Mrs. Emma Fox Jones; one sister: Mrs. Lila Barbour, Crestwood and one brother: Harvey A. Jones, Columbus, Ohio.

 

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14th at the Second Baptist Church, Campbellsburg.  Rev. James Anderson officiated.  Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, New Castle.  Saffell Funeral Home, Shelbyville, was in charge of the arrangements.

Hallie Jones

 

Mrs. Hallie Lee Jones, 83 of Campbellsburg, died Wednesday, June 22, 1983 at the Suburban Hospital, Louisville.  She was a member of the Calvary Temple Apolostic Church, New Castle.

 

She is survived by her husband: Robert Lee Jones, Campbellsburg; two sons: George Richard Jones, Dayton, Ohio and Robert Lee Jones, Jr.; one daughter: Mrs. Margie McAtee, Louisville; two brothers: George Sutton and Raymond Ballard; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25th at the Calvary Temple Apostolic Church, New Castle.  Jesse Foree, Jr. officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.  Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Herbert Jones, Jr.

 

Herbert Jones, Jr., age 77 of Bedford, died Friday, November 10, 2006, at Baptist Hospital Northeast, LaGrange.  He was the son of the late Herbert and Ollie Sharp Jones and was a farmer.

 

He is survived by four sisters: Martha Kays, Louisville, Mrs. Hershel (Helen) Woosley, Charlestown, South Carolina, Mrs. Jack(Peggy) Marsee, LaGrange and Mrs. Donald (Margaret “Martie”) Phillips, New Castle and one brother: Bobby G. Jones, Louisville.  He was preceded in death by one sister.

 

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 13th at the New Castle Cemetery.  Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Houston Jones

 

Houston M. Jones, age 86 of Campbellsburg, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Homestead Nursing Center in New Castle.  He was a member of the English Baptist Church, a sixty year pin holder at the Campbellsburg Masonic Lodge #249, a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII where he received the Army of Occupation Medal and the Worlds War Victory Medal, was retired from Clayton and Lambert and was the son of the late Demint and Elizabeth Calvert Jones.

 

He is survived by one brother: Demint Jones, Jr. and one sister: Virginia Melvin, both of Campbellsburg.  He was preceded in death by his wife : Juanita Morgan Jones and three sisters.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 17th, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Charles Highfield officiated.  Interment was in the English Cemetery in Carroll County.

Hunt Jones

 

Hunt Jones, 76, Eminence dairy farmer, died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday at Kentucky Baptist Hospital, Louisville, after a brief illness.  Mr. Jones, a native of Louisville, had lived in Eminence the past 25 years.  He was a member of the Eminence Presbyterian Church and a member of the Eminence Lodge #282 F. & A.M..  He had been a member of F. & A.M. for over 50 years.

 

Survivors include his wife: the former Bess Collins; a son: Dr. Hunt B. Jones, Louisville; a brother: Breckinridge Jones, Montclair, N. J. and three grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Monday at the Eminence Presbyterian Church.  The Rev. Walter Sutton officiated.  Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Irene Louden Jones

 

Irene Louden Jones, age 85, of New Castle, died Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville.  She was a member of Drennon Christian Church and the daughter of the late John Simpson and Lena Irwin Louden.

 

She is survived by one sister: Thelma Louden Miskell, New Castle; two nieces and one nephew.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Jones and one sister.

 

Funeral services will be today (Wednesday, September 1) at 11 a.m. at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Dave Wilde, pastor of the Drennon Christian Church, will officiate.  Interment will be in the New Castle Cemetery.

Irene Mitchell Jones 

 

Mrs. Irene Mitchell Jones, 65, of Route 1, Pleasureville, died Friday, May 4, 1984 at Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.  She was a native of Shelby County, a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church and a member of the Shelby County Historical Society.

 

She is survived by her husband: Kenneth H. Jones, Route 1, Pleasureville; one daughter: Mrs. David (Lois) Myers, Maryville, Tennessee; and three granddaughters: Elizabeth, Laura and Sarah Myers, all of Maryville.

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8th at the Hall & Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Rev. Grant O’Dell officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Jack Jones

 

Mr. Jack Jones, 79, of Sulphur, died Monday, April 29, 1985 at his residence.  He was a native of Trimble County, formerly of Louisville, a retired employee of Dixie Pump Manufacturing Company in Louisville and a member of the Bedford Antioch Baptist Church.

 

He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Elza (Alice) Webster, Sulphur and Mrs. Jim (Ruth) Harrod, Crestwood; two sons: Gene Jones, Centerfield and Allen Jones, Cincinnati; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2nd from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Rev. Ferrell Davis, pastor of the Sulphur Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Bedford Cemetery.

Jim Jones

 

Mr. Jim Jones, 83, of Route 1, Shelbyville, died Thursday, March 15, 1984 at the St. Anthony Hospital, Louisville after an illness.  He was formerly of Henry County, a retired farmer and a member of the Drennon Christian Church.

 

He is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Mike (Rosetta) Stoop, Eastwood; two sons: Jimmy Jones, Louisville and Leonard Newman, Eminence; two sisters: Mrs. Laura Quickert, Route 1, Campbellsburg and Mrs. Thelma Blanton, Louisville and one niece: Mrs. Elmer (Linda) Blanton, Louisville.

 

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17th from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Dr. Clayton Klingenfus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Mrs. Lamar Jones

 

Mrs. Lamar Jones, 67, of Port Royal, died Sunday at her home.  The funeral was conducted by Rev. W. G. Guess at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Port Royal Baptist Church. 

 

She is survived by her husband: Lamar Jones; a daughter: Mrs. Conrad Young, Port Royal; a son: S. K. Jones, Port Royal; and two brothers Roger and John Mertz, both of Port Royal.  She also had three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Laura L. Jones, age 79, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2000, at Shelbyville.  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 3rd at Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle.

Ray Powell officiated, assisted by Jeffrey Smith.  Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Leslie Jones

 

Leslie Eugene “Gene” Jones, age 80, of Bedford, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at his residence.  He was a WWII Veteran, retired from Jefferson Proving Grounds, a farmer, and the son of the late John Frances Hayes Jones and Martha Alice Bell Hewlett.  He was also the American Theater Ribbon, the EAME Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, a good conduct medal and a victory medal.

 

He is survived by his wife: Sarah Jo Wise Jones, Bedford; three sons: Leslie Douglas Jones, Pleasureville, Stephen J. Jones and Christopher W. Jones, both of Bedford; two daughters: Mrs. Chester D. (Brenda) Hudson, Bedfrod and Mrs. Darrel (Gwen) Wilson, Crestwood; one brother: Kurt Hewlett, Shelbyville; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 4th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford.  Dr. Darrell Wilson officiated.  Interment was in the Bedford I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Lille Mae Jones

 

Mrs. Lillie Mae Jones, 75, of Turners Station, died Sunday, February 26, 1984 at the Baptist East Hospital, Louisville.  She was a member of the Turners Station Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Betsy Ann Meece and Mrs. Michael (Bonnie Sue) Payne, both of Louisville; four sons: Stanley E. Jones, Shelbyville, Daniel Paul Jones, Turners Station, Ralph Ronald Jones, Lockport and Kenneth Wayne Jones, Frankfort; two sisters: Mrs. Floyd (Mary Frances) Powell, New Castle and Mrs. Robert (Laura Leslie) Jones, Franklinton; one brother: Selbert Lee Mahoney, Sulphur; twenty grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 28th from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Rev. Allen Brewer, pastor of the Turners Station Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

 

 

M. J. Jones, Jr.

 

Former law leader, M. J. Jones, Jr., 74, New Castle, died Saturday, April 15, 1989 at his residence.  Jones, son of the late Judge M. J. Jones and Lula Godbey Jones, served an unprecedented seven terms as Henry County Attorney.  He was first elected into that office in 1950. Mr. Jones’ distinguished law career began after he graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1936, and later, the Jefferson School of Law in 1940.  In 1945, he started his practice of law in New Castle, and ten years later, joined the 100 year-old law firm of Turner and Turner.

 

Jones is survived by his wife: Mrs. Alberta King Jones, New Castle.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Prewitt’s Funeral Home in New Castle. The service was officiated by Rev. Garnett Slone, pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, and assisted byDr. Clayton Klingenfus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Mamie Jones

 

Mrs. Mamie Jones, 74, of 182 North Ewing Street, Louisville, died Tuesday , November 15, 1983 at the Jefferson Manor Nursing Home, Louisville.  She was formerly from Henry County.

 

She is survived by three sons: Bobby Jones, Ray Jones and Ira Jones, all of Louisville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven sisters: Mrs. Delice Cleveland, Cincinnati, Mrs. Vernon Dunaway, Carrollton, Mrs. Peggy Roberts, Louisville, Mrs. Leota Roberts, Louisville, Mrs. Oneida Overstreet, Tampa, Florida, Mrs. Lois Rassman, Warsaw, Indiana, and Mrs. Laverne New, Pleasureville; three brothers: J. D. Holmes, Pleasureville, Melvin Holmes, Pleasureville and Marshall Holmes, Louisville.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 18th at the Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Mike Galespie officiated.  Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Mary Jones

 

Mrs. Mary Jones, beloved wife of Mr. A. Leonidas Jones, passed to her eternal reward, about 4 o’clock in the morning of Tuesday, September 28, 1915, having suffered a long and distressing illness of a complicated Character.  She bore her suffering with unusual patience considering their severity and met the final issue as becomes the true Christian that she was.

 

Mrs. Jones was born August 22, 1842 and was the daughter of William O. Brewer, well known in his day as a leading citizen of Henry County.  Her mother was Frances Antill another honorable name.  Married to Mr. Jones November 10, 1862, she was his faithful companion almost 53 years.  Four children were born to them.  All survive with the husband; viz: William O., Curtis B., Harry B. and Mrs. Kate Greenfield, all living in or near Eminence.

 

At 2 p.m. Wednesday funeral services were held at the residence, when her pastor, Rev. H. S. Summers, delivered a tender and appropriate discourse.  The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Eminence Cemetery.

Maurice Jones

 

Mr. Maurice Jones, 84, New Castle, died Thursday, July 11, 1985 at the King’s Daughters Hospital, Shelbyville.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the Port Royal Methodist Church.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Mildred Dunaway Jones, New Castle; one daughter: Mrs. Clyde (Wanda) Rayburn, Shelbyville; three sons: Gene Jones, Carrollton, Donnie Jones, Frankfort and Hillis Jones, LaGrange; three sisters: Mrs. Allen (Mildred) Chilton, Smithfield, Mrs. Eva Mahoney, Campbellsburg and Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Wainscott, Eminence; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14 from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Rev. William Pearson, pastor of the Bedford Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. John Phipps, pastor of the Port Royal Methodist Church.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Michael Jones

 

Michael Allen Jones, age 59 of Smithfield, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  He was a Union Millwright, a United States Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam, a member of the Drennon Christian Church, attendee of the Smithfield Christian Church and the son of the late Vernon C. and Wanda Lee Oliver Jones.

 

He is survived by his wife: Yolanda Jones, Smithfield; one daughter: Mrs. Matt (Shelley) Hoffman, Louisville; one sister: Mrs. Stan (Diane) Foster, Louisville and two grandsons.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 11, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Tanya J. Tyler, pastor of the Smithfield Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Nancy Margueret Jones

 

Mrs. Nancy Margueret Jones, the daughter of Horace and Susan Henderson, was born May 30, 1854 and died February 15, 1927.  She was married to Charles Samuel Jones, October 23, 1872, and to this union was born thirteen children – four boys and nine girls.  Nine of these are left to mourn her loss.  She also leaves two brothers and four sisters.  Mrs. Jones united with the Drennon Christian Church about 40 years ago and was a consistent member until her death.

 

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Boswell, of New Castle.

Novella Jones

 

Mrs. Novella Rankin Jones, age 88, of Louisville, formerly of Franklinton, died Thursday, July 29, 1993 at the Baptist East Hospital, Louisville.  She was a native of  Henry County, a retired school teacher in Henry and Owen Counties for 33 years and a member of the Berea Christian Church.

 

She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Bob (Joyce) McClain, Louisville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Jones.

 

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle.  Dr. Jim Sutherlin, pastor of the Middletown Christian Church, officiated.

Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Paul Jones

 

Paul Jones, age 93, of New Castle, died Friday, February 16, 2001 at the Christopher East Nursing Home in Louisville.  He was a native of Madison County, the son of the late Sam and Ellie Moore Jones, a retired farmer and mutual clerk at the Kentucky Race Tracks, Louisville for 34 years, a member of the Simpson Masonic Lodge #189 and a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church for 81 years.

 

He is survived by two daughters: Betty Jean Payton Hamilton, New Castle and Carolyn Baker, Eminence; one son: Paul Jones, Jr., Smithfield; one step-daughter: Mrs. Joe (Norma Jean) Berry, New Castle; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife: Leona Teters Jones.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 18th at the Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Gary Polston, pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Robert Jones, Sr., 57 of Route 1, Campbellsburg, died Monday, October 20, 1980 at the Norton-Children’s Hospital, Louisville after an illness.  He was an employee of International Harvester in Louisville and a member of the Pendleton Church of Christ.

 

He is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Floyd (Elaine) Downey, Port Royal; two sons: Robert Jones, Jr. and Donald Ray Jones, both of Route 2, Pleasureville; three sisters: Mrs. Kenneth (Eleanor) Sharp, Lacie, Mrs. M. B. (Helen) Hardin, Port Royal and Mrs. Mildred Sharp, Port Royal; one brother, Melvin Jones, Prospect and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 23 rd at 10a.m. from Prewitt’s, New Castle.  Rev. Lee Davis Fisher, Somerset, will officiate.  Interment will be in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Robert B. Jones, 82 of Campbellsburg, died Tuesday, June 28, 1983 at the Hill Haven Nursing Home, Louisville.

 

He is survived by two sons: George Richard Jones, Dayton, Ohio and Robert Lee Jones, Jr.; one daughter: Mrs. Mamie Evelyn McAtee, Louisville; three sisters: Mrs. Ella Mae Douglas, Shelbyville, Mrs. Mamie Berry, Louisville and Mrs. Lallie D. Hargray, St. Petersburg, Florida; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30th at the Campbellsburg Apostolic Pentecostal Church.  Rev. Paul E. Perry, officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Barnett-Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.

Rose Jones

 

Rosie Alice Jones, age 72, of LaGrange, formerly of Eminence, died Sunday June 26, 2005 at Richwood Retirement Center.  She was the daughter of Adolphis Harley and Cali Lou Harley, a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.

 

She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Tim (Carol Sue) Keller and Mrs. Melvin (Nancy Lou) Smith, both of Bedford, Sharon Jones, Shelbyville, and Doris Stark, New Castle; two sons: Lonnie B. Jones, two sisters and one brother.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 28th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Eminence.  Brother Carl Lawson and Brother Bobby Wade officiated.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Roy Jones

 

The first death to a W. P. A. worker in Henry County occurred last week, when a rock, weighing 65 pounds, fell 75 feet from overhead at the Lockport Quarry Friday morning, fatally injuring Roy Jones, 27, father of four children.  Jones was given first aid at the quarry by Dr. L. E. Elliott, Lockport physician, and then taken to the Shelbyville hospital, where he died at 5:40 Sunday morning.

 

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Drennon Chapel.  Burial was in the Drennon Cemetery.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Dora Kopp Jones; four children: Chester Allen, 7, Emma Kathleen, 5, Roy Glenn, 2, and Jean Carroll, 11 months; one sister: Mrs. Susie Tingle; five brothers: Floyd Jones, Forrest Jones, Noble Jones, Elton Jones and Dewey Florence Jones.

S. K. Jones

 

S. K. Jones, 78, of Route 1, Turners Station, died Thursday, July 26, 1984 at the St. Anthony Hospital, Louisville.  He was a native of Henry County, a member of the Turners Station Baptist Church, a member of the Modern Woodsmen of America and a retired farmer.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Dorothy Suter Jones, Route 1, Turners Station; one daughter: Mrs. Margie Poe, Providence; one sister: Mrs. Martha Jones Young, Port Royal; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 :30 p.m. Sunday, July 29th at the Barnett-Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Allen Brewer, pastor of the Turners Station Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Stanley Jones

 

Stanley E. Jones, age 76, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.  He was a native of Henry County, a retired employee with GE for 35 years, a member of the Eminence Church of God and the son of the late Paul and Lille Mahoney Jones.

 

He is survived by his wife: Claudean Jones, Shelbyville; one daughter: Mrs. Dennis (Rhonda) Dempsey, Taylorsville; three sons: James Stanley, Evansville, Indiana, Paul A. Jones, Franklinton and Danny Lee Jones, Bedford; two sisters: Mrs. Johnny (Betsy) Myers, Shepherdsville and Bonnie Sue Clore, Louisville; three brothers: Danny Paul Jones, Turners Station, Ronnie Jones, Lockport and Kenny W. Jones, Frankfort; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Nathan Davenport, Shelbyville, officiated, assisted by Pastor Steve Leach, Oak Grove Church of God.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

W. C.  Jones

 

Willie C. Jones, son of Frank Jones of Drennon Springs, was shot and killed Wednesday

Night at about 11:30, and his brother, Edwin P. Jones, was seriously wounded in a fight at a road house near Lockport.  According to reports, Edwin P. Jones, a Fort Knox soldier, shot through the lungs, was taken to the King’s Daughters Hospital in Shelbyville, and later taken to Fort Knox.  Although seriously wounded, it is said that he has a chance to recover.

 

Earl “Pedro” Kistner of Gratz is in the Henry County jail charged with the shooting.  Kistner received cuts and bruises about the head and shoulders during the fight.  His examining trial will be held Saturday.

William C. Jones, 67, died at his home in Eminence at 1:15 a.m., Sunday.

 

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Bertha Alice Williams Jones; one daughter: Mrs. Myrtle Cecil, Great Falls, Montana; one son: Robert L. Jones, Shelbyville; one stepson: Lewis Eberle, Eminence; two brothers: Oscar Jones and Arthur Jones, both of Eminence and one sister: Mrs. Lillie Willoughby, Louisville.

 

Funeral services were conducted at the Eminence Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, with Rev. J. R. Smith officiating.  Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Jordan, 54, of Pleasureville, died Sunday, March 18, 1984 at the Humana Hospital University, Louisville.

 

She is survived by her husband: William Leonard “Lucky” Jordan, Pleasureville; two daughters: Mrs. Anna Louise Watson, LaGrange and Mrs. Charlene Kay Nay, Eminence; four grandchildren: Melinda Watson and Chrissy Watson, both of LaGrange, Cindy Nay and William Nay, both of Eminence; two sisters: Mrs. Hazel Danner, Eminence and Mrs. Fannie Mae Eversole, Madison, Indiana; one brother: Carroll Lyons, Jr., Louisville; stepmother: Mrs. Hazel Snider, Taylorsville; four half-brothers: Charles Lyons, Bethlehem, Paul Lyons, Bagdad, William Lyons and Dwight Lyons, both of Bethlehem; three half-sisters: Mrs. Joyce Woods, Eminence, Mrs. Mary Etta Powell, Birmingham, Alabama and Mrs. Violet Knopp, Radcliffe.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21st at the Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Michael Duncan officiated.Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Beulah Justice

 

Mrs. Beulah Lee Justice, 86, of Route 1, Campbellsburg, died Thursday, November 24, 1983 at the Bethesda Nursing Center , Louisville.  She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 27th at the Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford.  Rev. Carl Rucker, pastor of the Campbellsburg Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Campbellsburg Cemetery.

James A. Justice, Sr.

 

James A. Justice, Sr. of Dayton, Ohio, died Saturday, July 5, 1997 at the hospice Center in Dayton after a long illness.  He was formerly of Carroll County.

 

He is survived by his wife: Geraldine Justice, Dayton; six children: Diann Stockdale, New Castle, Dennis Justice, Fort Worth, Texas, Michael, Robert, James, Jr. and Doug Justice, all of Dayton; six grandsons and seven granddaughters.

 

Funeral services were held at Tufts-Schildmeyer Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 7th.  Burial was Tuesday, July 8, at Graceland Memorial, Goshen, Ohio.
