Clarence Nash

Burial services for Clarence Nash of Crestwood, formerly of Henry County, were held at the New Castle Cemetery Sunday afternoon.

Accordingly to the Courier-Journal: “Nervous trouble and worry over personal business affairs were given as the cause of the suicide of Clarence T. Nash, 54 years old, cashier of the Crestwood State Bank, who shot himself in the head at the bank late Thursday.

J. C. Coleman, president and others testified at the Coroner’s inquest Thursday night that there was no indication that Mr. Nash’s bank accounts were irregular.  The jury’s verdict was that he went into the director’s room after closing the bank and shot himself.

Notified by the janitor that he had heard a shot in the building, J. W. McCardwell, assistant cashier, and D. C. Green, Crestwood, entered the bank and found the body.

Mr. Nash, a native of Henry County, had been cashier of the bank for three years.  He came to Crestwood from Worthville.
