Lonnie Burgett became the boys head basketball coach at South Hopkins High School. He is currently [Aug 2005] Superintendent of Mayfield Schools. Lonnie Burgett also excelled in baseball at Earlington High School and was named to the All-County Baseball Team.

Bob Fox played basketball at Earlington High School in the late 1940's. He returned to coach at Earlington, where he amassed a 141-26 career record. He coached his teams into the Sweet Sixteen in 1966 and 1967, including winning the State Basketball Championship in 1967. Bob Fox was inducted into the KHSAA Hall of Fame in 2001, and was inducted into the Hopkins County Central High School Hall of Fame in 2005.

Justin Sharp, Jim Hicks, and Greg Martin, received All-County, All-7th District, All-2nd Region, and All-State honors during their basketball careers at Earlington High School. They, along with fellow team members from the 1967 State Championship team were inducted into the Hopkins County Central High School Hall of Fame in 2005. Justin Sharp played college basketball at Louisana Tech.
