VIRGINIA SERVICE  Pension # S 36, 431

The above named soldier, Henry Brock, applied for pension 10 Nov 1820 in Jefferson County, Kentucky.  He made declaration that he was age 74, that he enlisted for 18 mos. in 1775, that they marched to Williamsburg, Virginia and from there to Norfolk where he remained during the military operations in that part of state and was in the action at Long Bridge.  The limitation for his service was for 3 years during the war.   After the fall of Fort Washington and Fort Lee he continued with the company on it's retreat through New Jersey and was in the Battles of Trenton and Prince Town and was with the army at Middlebrook and the state of New Jersey in the spring of 1777 where he first joined his company commanded by Capt. Clarke who had just returned from the south with the 8th Virginia Regiment.  He continued with the army till sometime before the capture of Cornwallis when he obtained his furlow to return home.  In Shenandoah County, Virginia he made a schedule of his property, and made statements that he had a wife, 3 daughters, living with him, aged 21 and over, all 3 of them.  He also had 3 sons living with him and the youngest was about 18 and the oldest was about 24.

Henry Brock of Jefferson County, Kentucky, who was a private in the regiment commanded by Col. Muhlenburg of the Virginia line for 3 years was inscribed on the Pension Roll of Kentucky Agency to commence on 10 Nov 1821.  Certificate of Pension was issued 30 Jan 1822.
