Jefferson County, Kentucky - July 18, 1818.  The above named soldier deposes that he enlisted in Virginia in company of Capt. Ope, of 1st Virginia Regiment of state troops in March 1777.  He served 12 months, re-enlisted in the fall of 1780 in company of Captain John O. Verters, in 1st Virginia Regiment, C---- ----- Continental Line, and served 13 months when he enlisted in Light Dragoons by permission of his Colonel.  In the company of Capt. James Crump, served till said troops were disbanded in 1782 near Eutaw Springs, SC.  Was in Battle of Guilford C. H. October 27, 1809, Mathew Cummings of Franklin County, made oath that he knew Thomas McKenney in Capt. Overton's Company in 1st Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line, said service being at least 19 months.

Jefferson County - March 15, 1823.  Thomas McKenney, aged 62, makes oath concerning his property and says that he has a wife who is age 46 years old and troubled with pain in her breast, and is very feeble, that they have four children living with him, viz; William, aged 16, Lucinda, 13, Sarah Ann, 7 (note he definitely says four children but names only three).

Jefferson County, Indiana - July 31, 1822.  John Smith deposes he was well acquainted with Thomas McKenney during the Revolution.

Enrolled at $8.00 per month to begin Mar 15, 1823.
