On July 29 of the year 1818 in Jefferson County in the state of Kentucky, the said pensioner appeared in open court and stated that he had enlisted in the month of February of the year 1778 to serve in the company under the command of Captain Wood and in the regiment under the command of Colonel Abraham Buford in Rockingham County in the state of Virginia for a tour of eleven months duration.  The said pensioner also resided in Woodford County in the state of Kentucky.

The affidavit of Isaac Crutcher was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing.  The said deponent stated and swore that at one time and in the said county and state he had been both well and favorably acquainted with the said pensioner and the said deponent also stated and swore that the said pensioner, Robert Pike, was really in reduced circumstances and did need the assistance of his country for his support.

On July 30 of the year 1819 in Fayette County in the state of Kentucky, the affidavit of Captain William Smith was also given.  The said deponent stated and swore that he had been both well and favorably acquainted with the said pensioner both before his enlistment and also in the state of Kentucky ten years later.

On June 18 of the year 1821 in Estill County in the state of Kentucky, the said pensioner at the age of 70 years appeared in open court and stated that he had first enlisted for a tour of eighteen months duration in the year 1777 and that he had been honorably discharged in the state of South Carolina.  He also stated that his property was worth only $74.00 and that he owed $50.00.  He said that he had a wife at the age of 66 years and a son at the age of 17 years also residing with him.

On February 19 of the year 1822 in Estill County in the state of Kentucky, the said pensioner at the age of 76 years appeared in open court for the purpose of appointing Colonel John Smith to act in the capacity of his attorney.

The affidavit of Joseph Honk was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing.  The said deponent stated and swore that at one time and in the said county and state he had been both well and favorably acquainted with the said pensioner and he also swore that the pensioner had served in the War of the Revolution on the side of the United States of America and that he was the identical person that he claimed himself to me.

On November 29 of the year 1841 in Montgomery County in the state of Kentucky, the affidavit of Thomas Powell was also given.  The said deponent being at the age of 62 years stated and swore that he had been both well and favorably acquainted with both the said pensioner, Robert Pike, and his present widow, Anny Pike, for a period of forty years.  This deponent also stated that Robert Pike had received a pension and he had died as had been stated and that Anny Pike still remained the relic (sic) and widow of the said pensioner, and this deponent also stated and swore that his wife, Hannah Powell Pike was the  daughter and eldest child of the said pensioner.  The said deponent also stated that the following record was from his own family Bible - Hannah Powell was born on September 2 of the year 1782.

On May 3 of the year 1843 in Estill County in the sate of Kentucky, Annie Pike again appeared in open court for the purpose of changing the date of her marriage to the later part of the month of August of the year 1782 instead of the year 1781.

The affidavit of John Kindrell, a Justice of the Peace, was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing.  The said deponent stated and swore that he had been both well and favorably acquainted for a period of twenty five years with both the said pensioner and his widow, Anny Pike.

The affidavit of Ephraim Heatton was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing.  The said deponent stated and swore that he had been both well and favorably with the said pensioner and his widow as well from his earliest recollection or about the year 1788, and he also stated that they had lived together as man and wife and that the pensioner had died as stated.

On March 26 of the year 1842 in Fayette County in the state of Kentucky, the affidavit of Mrs. Sally McNield was also given.  The said deponent stated and swore that she had been both well and favorably acquainted with both the said pensioner and his widow since the fall of the year 1789.  She also stated that they had lived together as man and wife and that the said pensioner had died as had been stated.

The affidavit of William Curry was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing.  The said deponent stated and swore that he had been both well and favorably acquainted with both the said pensioner and his widow before the year 1790 and he also stated that they had lived together as man and wife and that the said pensioner had dies as had been stated.

On May 3 of the year 1843 in Montgomery County in the state of Kentucky, the affidavit of Hannah Powell was also given.  The said deponent being at the age of 59 years stated and swore that she was the daughter of the said pensioner Robert Pike and she swore that her parents had lived together as man and wife and that her father had received a pension and that he had died as has been stated and that her mother Anny Pike still remained the widow and relic of her father, the said pensioner, Robert Pike.

The said pensioner himself, Robert Pike, was on the Kentucky Roll of Pensions at the rate of $8.00 per month to commence on July 30 of the year 1819 and his certificate of pension for amount was issued on September 7 of the year 1819 and it was then sent to the pensioner himself at Lexington in the state of Kentucky.
