On July 14 of the year 1818 in Jefferson County in the state of Kentucky the said pensioner at the age of 75 years appeared in open court and stated that he had enlisted in the year 1776 and in Essex County in the state of New Jersey to serve in the company under the command of Captain Daniel Neall and in the regiment under the command of Colonel Lams, for a tour of four years duration and he was then honorably discharge in the state of New Jersey.  He stated that he had served in both the Battle of Monmouth and in the Battle of Trenton.

The affidavit of Thomas Threlkill and Thomas Cannon was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing.  The said deponents stated and swore that at one time and in the said county and stated they had both been  well and favorably acquainted with the said pensioner, and they also swore that he had a wife and two children, the youngest of whom was at the age of thirteen years, who resided with him.  They also stated that the said pensioner was in reduced circumstances and needed the assistance of his country for support.

On July 11 of the year 1820 in Jefferson County in the state of Kentucky the said pensioner, Nathaniel Ross, appeared in open court again for the purpose of giving a schedule of his property.  He stated that all of his property was worth only $81.00.

The said pensioner himself, Nathaniel Ross, was on the Kentucky Roll of Pensions at the rate of $8.00 per month to commence on July 14 of the year 1818 and his certificate of pension for that amount was issued on February 18 of the year 1819 and it was then sent to the Honorable R. C. Anderson, Junior. H. R.
