On June 9 of the year 1818 in Louisville in Jefferson County the said pensioner at the age of 75 years appeared in open court and stated that he had enlisted in the month of April of the year 1776 to serve in the company under the command of Captain Grier in the Sixth Regiment of Pennsylvania under the command of Colonel William Irvin for a tour of one years duration and he was then honorably discharged at Ticonderoga.

The said pensioner then again enlisted to serve in the company under the command of Captain William Nichols in the Seventh Pennsylvania Regiment under the command of Colonel Thomas Hartley for a tour of one years duration and he was then again honorably discharged.

The affidavit of Robert Wilson was also given at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing.  The said deponent stated and swore that he had formerly been a Lieutenant in the Sixth Pennsylvania Regiment and he stated and swore that he had been both well and favorably acquainted with the said pensioner during the years 1776 and 1777 and he said that they had been in in the service together.

on July 11 of the year 1820 in Louisville in Jefferson County in the state of Kentucky, the said pensioner again appeared in open court and stated this his property was worth only $73.00.

The said pensioner himself, James Stevenson, was on the Kentucky Roll of Pensions at the rate of $8.00 per month to commence on June 9 of the year 1818 and his certificate of pension for that amount was issued on June 8 of the year 1819 and it was then sent to the Honorable R. C. Anderson at Louisville in the state of Kentucky.
