Robert Wilson, the above named soldier, a pensioner of the United States, by certificate dated on May 9, 1818 at $20 per month appeared in court in Jefferson County, Kentucky and made declaration that he is 66 years of age and a resident of the above named county and state.  He served in the Revolutionary War and entered in the 6th Pennsylvania Regiment commanded by Colonel William Irvin about November 1, 1775in the Continental Establishment; when the company was filled in April 1775 he marched to New York and from there to lower Canada and met the British at a place called "Three Rivers" where the Americans were defeated and retreated back to Ticonderoga.  From there he returned to Philadelphia to recruiting orders and there filled the regiment and returned to Philadelphia and received a Captains Commission in the Spring of 1777 and marched to the state of New Jersey and joined the main army and from there marched to the Head of Elk but met the British at Brandywine and was in the engagement on the eleventh of September 1777 called the Battle of Brandywine and soon afterwards he as in the massacre at Paoli under the command of General Wayne and received several wounds in that battle or massacre at Paoli and he remained under the care of the surgeons until December and them marched to camp at Valley Forge and continued in the service till March 1778 and then resigned his commission and in November 1778 he accepted and received an appointment in the Staff Department under Colonel John Davis who was Deputy Quarter Master General for the western army and continued in that capacity until 1781.

Section 90

The date of his original application was May 9, 1818.  He made a schedule of his property and also stated that he is by occupation a farmer, that his wife is 59 years of age, that he has living with him only one child, a daughter named Jane, aged 18.  This application was made before Alfred Metcalf, Judge and Warden Pope, Clerk.

Robert Wilson again made declaration in order to obtain a pension for his services in the Revolutionary War, in Jefferson County, Kentucky on October 28, 1833, and James F. Pendergrast, resident of Jefferson County, Kentucky made certification of being well acquainted with him and to the truthfulness of his statements.

In Jefferson County, Kentucky on May 17, 1836, Jane Wilson proved in court that she is the widow of Robert Wilson, deceased who was a Captain in the War of the Revolution, and that he departed this life in Jefferson County, Kentucky on September 10, 1835 and that she is now a widow and had not been married since the death of said Robert Wilson, that they were married in 1777 in the state of Pennsylvania and said Wilson was at that time an officer in the services of the United States and was engaged in the war of the Revolutionary War.

Otto Holland Williams, Clerk of Washington County Court of Maryland made declaration that it appeared from the record book of marriage licenses granted in that county that on November 4, 1777, license was issued directing that Reverend Mr. Young solemnize the rights of marriage granted November 4, 1777.

Section 91

The widow, Jane Wilson, also made declaration on July 19, 1837 for a pension and stated that she was aged 74, that she and Robert Wilson were married on November 20, 1777 and that he died on September 18, 1833, that he died leaving Emzer Wilson, who resides in the state of Arkansas, Elliott Wilson, Patience who intermarried with Joseph Blunk, David Wilson, and Daniel Wilson, his heirs and representatives and who at that time of the death of said Robert Wilson were over the age of 21, that said Joseph Blunk and Patience, his wife, Daniel Wilson and said Wilson now reside in Jefferson County, Kentucky.  Elliott Wilson who moved to Louisiana is now dead leaving four children whose names are unknown to her except Jane and India Wilson.  This declaration as made before Alexander E. Gailbreath, Justice of the Peace, and on July 19, 1837, Benjamin Summers made declaration that he had been acquainted with both Robert and Jane Wilson since 1805, and that he was also acquainted with the children.

Levin Cooper, resident of Jefferson County, Kentucky also made declaration of acquaintance with both Robert and Jane Wilson since 1792, 1793, or 1794 and that he has lived in their neighborhood since that time up to the death of said Robert Wilson.  This affidavit was made before Alexander H. Gailbreath, Justice of the Peace and certified by Warden Pope, Clerk of the County Court and Edmund Pope, Clerk of the City Court of Louisville, Kentucky.

In Jefferson County, Kentucky on March 19, 1844, David Wilson, resident of that county appeared and made declaration that he is a son of Robert Wilson and who as a pensioner of the United States.  He applied for the arrears of the pension allowances from his mother's death which occurred on August 19, 1843.

Section 92

A letter written from the Auditor General's Office, Harrisburg, on June 4, 1849 that there are no records on file to show that Robert Weeden was a Deputy Quarter Master General in the War of the Revolution, that the records show Robert Wilson was a Lieutenant in Chester County during the time mentioned and that the office was a military one.  This was signed by John M. Purnance, Auditor.

Robert Wilson of Jefferson County, Kentucky who was a Captain in the regiment commanded by Colonel Irvine in the Pennsylvania Line for 2 years was inscribed on the Pension Roll of the Kentucky Agency to commence on March 19, 1818.  Certificate of the pension was issued on June 8, 1819 and sent to Honorable R. C. Anderson, Louisville, Kentucky.

Jane Wilson, widow of Robert Wilson, was inscribed on the Pension Roll of Kentucky Agency to commence on March 10, 1835.  Certificate of the pension was issued on July 3, 1849.
