HILDRETH, farmer; P. O. Paris. This gentlemen is a descendant of one of the early families who settled in Bourbon County; he was born May 25, 1826. The parents of the above were John and Mary (Findley) Hildreth. The Hildreths were from Wythe County, Va. The Hildreth family came to this precinct in the early part of the present century, locating here, and have since remained. The elder members of the family have since passed away, yet several of the descendants still remain, among whom are: J. A., Mrs. C. M. Rogers; Evaline, Mrs. Nat. Rogers; and Mrs. Caroline Rosebury. In 1854 Joseph A. was united by marriage to Sallie, daughter of George A. and Elizabeth (Edwards) Smith; both families from Virginia. To the above were born six children, now living, viz: George W., Mariamne, John, Smith, Caroline B. and Ida. Mr. Hildreth has 465 acres of land, and is engaged in farming pursuits.
