GEN. WILLIAM ORLANDO BUTLER.
     For sketch of this distinguished civilian and soldier (a native of
Kentucky, and still living at Carrollton, Feb., 1874, aged nearly 83), see
under Carroll County, in Volume II, of this work, page 121.  Gen. B. wrote
several poems of merit, in early life.  The following [The Boatman's Horn]
was published about 1835.
