JONES was born in Spencer County, Ky., April 27, 1827. When six years of age his parents went to Clark County, Ill., and lived three years; then moved to Jefferson County, Ky. In 1876 he came to Daviess County, where he has a farm of seventy acres, eight miles south of Owensboro, on the Calhoun road. He was married in 1851 to Sarah A. Shields, a native of Spencer County, Ky., born in 1837. They have six children--William H., George S., Sarah A., Eliza B., Fannie and Maggie.
