Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. HENRY WAGONER was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, May 2, 1860. He learned the trade of a marble cutter, which occupation he followed in the old country until 1885, when he emigrated to America, settling in the State of New Jersey, where he again re-engaged in his old calling. Several years later he came to Kentucky and located at Elliston Station, in this county, and for a number of years he engaged in marble cutting in that locality, but later came to Crittenden, where he set up a shop and has been engaged in business ever since. He understands his trade thoroughly and receives orders from almost every part of Northern Kentucky. His work speaks for itself and helps to advertise him. He carries in stock all kinds of marble, both home product and the imported article, and some of his shafts of Georgia marble, recently erected, are things of beauty. His customers all like him, and his reputation for sterling honesty and integrity extends beyond the borders of this adopted county and state. Mr. Wagoner was married in June, 1900, to Miss Mary Kuester, of Crittenden, a handsome and most estimable lady, and they are a most delightful couple to see.
