Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Henry Co. JAMES R. SCOTT (deceased) was born in Henry County, Ky., in 1816, and was a son of Levi and Letitia (Chilton) Scott, natives of Virginia, who early settled near Campbellsburg, Ky. Mr. Scott was a prosperous farmer, and a leading man in his community; he was a Free Mason, and a member of the Baptist Church, of which he was long an official. July 20, 1863, he married Miss Susan F. Thompson, a native of Shelby County, Ky., and daughter of William and Eliza A. Webber, who were born in Clark and Shelby Counties, respectively. Two children were born to this union, Levin and Minnie, who reside with their mother at Eminence, Ky. Mr. Scott died in July, 1878, leaving his widow the 400 acre farm in Henry county, which she still manages.
