Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 5th ed., 1887, Jessamine Co. JOHN B. CHAMBERS was born April 9, 1852, and is the only son of James P. and Sarah A. (Bradshaw) Chambers. James P. Chambers was born in Jessamine County, three miles north of Nicholasville, in 1817; was a farmer, and died in 1862. Mrs. Sarah A. Chambers was born in Jessamine County, and died in 1854. John B.'s grandfather was named John Bradshaw. John B. Chambers was born five miles west of Nicholasville, Jessamine County; was reared on a farm, and has been engaged in farming and stock raising all his life. He was married, November 16, 1870, to Miss Fannie Blackford, of Jessamine County, daughter of R. P. and Susan (McGee) Blackford. Six children have blessed this union, five living: James R., Olive V., Susan V., Bronaugh Y. and John G. Mr. Chambers and all his family are members of the Presbyterian Church at Wilmore. Mrs. Chambers owns fifty acres of land in Lee District, six miles west of Nicholasville, on the Jessamine County and Pleasant Hill Turnpike.
