Stone (one of the early Masters of our Lodge) and Elizabeth McClanahan was born in Richmond, July 14, l830. He was a merchant during his business career, which extended over many years. Handsome, genial, he had many friends. He received all the degrees of an Ancient Craft Masonry during the year 1859. [He] Was made a Royal Arch Mason 1865, knighted in Richmond Commandery 1875. He was drowned June 27, 1902. His tragic death recalled to some few who could remember the sad deaths of both father and brother. He was a bachelor. He was buried in Richmond cemetery.
