R. W. ASPLEY, a member of this firm, was born near Franklin, in Simpson 
County, Ky., in 1859; is a son of J. N. and Virginia (Johnson) Aspley, 
and of English descent.  At five years of age he came with his parents 
to Bowling Green, and here has since resided.  He was educated at the 
public schools of this city and at Ogden College. In 1878 he began 
clerking in the grocery store of James Lucas, with whom he remained 
until February, 1885.  He then engaged in his present business, in 
partnership with Thomas Bailey.
