Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1886. Warren County. DR. WILLIAM V. BUSH was born February 21, 1847, in Barren County, this State, and is the son of John V. and Mary (Matthews) Bush, natives of Kentucky. His father was an enterprising farmer and a public-spirited citizen. After the death of his father Dr. Bush lived with his mother until twenty-five years of age, and in the meantime removed with her to this county. Having obtained a fair education he read medicine and graduated in the spring of 1875 at Nashville, Tenn. After graduating he located at Sugar Grove, Butler County, and practiced there for eight years; then removed to Hadley. He married, in 1876, Florence, daughter of Fayette and Elizabeth Snodgrass. This union has been blessed with three children: John L., Marcy C. and Hattie F. Dr. Bush is a Democrat in politics, and a Universalist in religion; his wife is a Reformer.
