EDWARD T. HERNDON, Warren County, is a son of James M. and Mary W. 
Herndon, and is of Welsh and Irish descent.  He was brought up on a farm 
and received a common school education.  After becoming of age he 
learned the carpenter's trade and went to Missouri, where he worked at 
that trade for three years and then returned to Warren County.  He 
married, December 27, 1870, Ophelia Herndon; they have one child, Mary 
L.  In politics Mr. Herndon affiliates with the Democratic party.
