MOORE is the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Daugherty) Risque, the former born in Virginia March 28, 1790, and the latter born in Pennsylvania. John Risque, her paternal grandfather, was also a native of Virginia. Mrs. Mary J. Moore is a native of Woodford County, Ky., and married Samuel Moore, who was born in Scott County in 1801, was a farmer, and died in February, 1855, a member of the Presbyterian Church. The children born to this union and now living are Milton, who married Alice Fincoski; Sidney S., who married Janie Halley; William R., who married Rika Steele; Churchwell, Lou M. and Robert Ella. Miss Mary Morris, a granddaughter of Mrs. Mary J. Moore, and a daughter of David and Mary J. (Moore) Morris, resides with her grandmother on the latter's farm of 160 acres. Mrs. Moore's two sons, William R. and Sidney, are distinguished ministers of the Christian Church, of which Mrs. Moore's children are all members, while Mrs. Moore herself is a member of the Baptist Church.
