Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 5th ed., 1887, Woodford Co. ANDREW J. WILSON was born July 17, 1834, and was a son of Isaac and Liddie (Ashford) Wilson, all were natives of Woodford County. Andrew J. was reared on a farm, received a good education, learned architecture and carpentering and was also and extensive farmer. He was one of Morgan's original squadron mustered in at Bowling Green in the fall of 1861, and he served through the war with credit. At the battle of Augusta, Ky., he was desperately wounded, and was compelled to return to his home, where he subsequently engaged in the lumber trade and acquired a handsome competency. September 7, 1869, he married Miss Nannie N. Thomas, a native of Estill County. He died September 28, 1882, the father of two children, Isaac M., born March, 1784, and Robert H., born in 1876.
