From: KyArchives Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2013 2:08 AM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Wilderness.Road.Bell.CEMETERY Source: Wilderness Road Cemetery,Bell Co,KY Photo can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/bell/photos/wilderne723ph.jpg Image file size: 66.6 Kb This historic cemetery is located just off HWY 25E,Cumberland Gap Pkwy,at the entrance to Pine Mtn State Park.There is one engraved tombstone,that of Pleasant North.There are many graves here,many appear to be children.Most graves are sunken,a few are mounded,and covered with rocks.A great deal of the cemetery is on a hillside,with some large trees,and a thick layer of leaves on the ground.There are a few fallen trees,but none that would impede walking in this site.*Extra care should be taken in warm weather,due to possible snake activity.
