1864 KY, Clay Co. Major G. W .PRICE is listed several times in the ledger of James W. Reid's store. This seems to indicate that he was officer in some army. He was 63 years old and this is unlikely  as he is too old for Civil War and too young for 1812.  It  remains a mystery.

1874 KY, Clay Co. Vital Records Deaths 1874. He is NOT listed. No records for 1873 in this book.
DISCREPANCY  Possible that research may have been copied in error. He can’t have died before he made his clerk entry. Perhaps his son,  Gabriel W. Price, Jr. age 21, acted as clerk.
