In the name of God Amen.

I Leven Adams of Laurel County and State of Kentucky knowing that owing to my bodily infirmity I must shortly be done with (time and timethings?) but being as yet possessed of sound disposing mind. I do make the following disposition of my property after paying all my just debts. First I will unto my beloved wife all my property both real and personal during her life and at her death all and every thing to be divided equally between my children. I appoint Abraham Chesnut and John A. Moore my executors and invest them with full power and authority to Sell or dispose of any property I have or debts owing to me. So also pay my debts they are further authorized and empowered to sell any of my lands if necessary to pay debts or if they think it best except the place on which I now live which I reserve for the _________ of my wife. This Will is not to effect in any way a contract heretofore made with William Hill and myself but my desire is that said contract be and remain as tho this Will had never been made. I further Will that after the death of my said wife (or before if she shall wish it so), my said Executors shall think it best to sell all of my land and divide the proceeds amongst my Children with such portion to my wife as my Executors and She may agree upon if she is living they are authorized to sell and convey the same for the best price they can get on such Terms as they may think best. Further when should be necessary if ever to divide the proceeds as they may think best. Signed, sealed & delivered this 12 day of August 1837.
