In the name of God Amen.

 

I Mary F. Jackson of Laurel County Ky being at an advanced age and in a very low state of bodily health, but of sound mind and knowing that _____long I must depart this life and being desirous to make some arrangements as respects my earthy affairs or at least a part thereof. Firstly, I acknowledge payment in full of one third part of the value of the property sold at the sale of my dead husbands estate. Secondly, I give my daughter Catherine Olaham my saddle, my cloak, my bonnets and one pair of stockings, also my weaving apparel, I have three ______. I give my son Jarvis Jackson my lot of new feathers, 8 sheets, 2 quilts one that my daughter Minerva and one that Hackney made, four old counterpins, also one comfort, I have three beds which I desire shall be devided between my three sons John and Stephen and Humphrey and all the bed clothes except what I have allready given to Jarvis and also 4 blankets I gave to him.

 

I give to my son Stephen one cow and calf which is now in his posession and also pinky heifer. I want my son John to have my two spotted heifers. I give to Humphry my cow Sally and her calf and frosty heifer. I desire that my old dress and my shawl shall be given to my old servant Betty. As to the residue of the cattle and hogs now in the pen, I give them to my son Jarvis. It is my desire that whatsever may be coming to me from my fathers estate may be equally divided between all my children. Also my pension should the United States grant me one upon the application which I have made.

 

It is moreover my desire that my son Jarvis shall see that this my last will and testment is carried out and for that pupose I hearby nominate and appoint him my as above and thereafter devised and directed. I give to my son Stephen the debt I have on Abraham Hunter and John give to my son John and Humphry the debt which my son John owes to me, allowing John to pay Humprey half the debt.

 

My interest in the present crop I give to my son Jarvis for his use until he breaks up house keeping, if there is any left at that time I want it sold and the money divided equally between my children. I want the stock all kept together and wintered well this winter if the children choose to let it remain together.

 

In testimony of which I have hereinto set my name and seal this 18th day of December 1846.
