Searching for anything earlier. The following information concerning my GGGFather Jeremiah Black(B. abt 1770 - d. 1833) and his father Hugh Black (B. ? - d. 1810 Green Co. KY) and his brother James Black is found in the Genealogy Library in Albuquerque, NM. The records are in the Lincoln Co., KY Records Vol. II, Michael L. Cook C.G. dating to 1781. ACTUAL NOTATION: pg. 280 - July 27, 1787 Present: Hugh Logan, Isaac Shelby, Henry Pawling, Alexander Blane and Baker Ewing, Justices. THE QUESTION -- WHERE IS THIS LAND LOCATED????? pg. 129 The persons appointed to view the way for a road from the Crossing of Cedar Creek to intersect the road leading from the Courthouse to Carpenter's, returned their report that they have view the way from Cedar Creek to Stephen Langford's, from thence to James Davis's, from thence to James Faris's, from thence to HUGH Black's, from thence to William Neal's, from thence to Wm. Cavanaugh's, from there through the two flat licks, from there past Hugh Logan's old house, and intersects with the Cumberland Road, and this would be a good road, tolerably straight Signed by John Hall, Wm. Cavanaugh, Yelverton Peyton and Capt. N. McClure. Order established. Stephen Langford appointed overseer of the road from Cedar Creek to James Faris's, and John Hall from Faris's to Neal's Creek and Wm. Cavanaugh from Neal's Creek to its intersection with the road leading from the Courthouse to Carpenter's.
