From: "Kathleen Leveroni" Date: Tuesday, September 11, 2007 10:05 AM My grgrgrandfather was George S. Edwards, born in Lincoln Co., Kentucky in about 1820 and died in the Civil War in New Orleans. I have had no luck in finding his parents other than stories I have heard from others that I have been unable to confirm. I am told that George was the son of a coal miner from Wales. He apparently was one of about 7 brothers. The story is that he was from an area of Wales that was a serfdom of King Edward, hence the last name of Edwards. George was already in Ray Co. Missouri when he married Ellender Guy in 1843. Living next to him was a man named James Edwards that, I believe, is probably a brother since James' children all carry names such as Wesley and William which are prevalent throughout our family. Are there any records at all from this period of time that might give a hint as to the rest of the family? Thanks for any help or suggestions. Kathleen Leveroni
